Scope Of Work
Crown Opera House consists of a 36,600 square foot three story addition with basement, and remodel of 7,400 square feet.
The 44,000 square foot project would not have been realized had it not been for a devastating fire to the Crown owned historic Boesel Opera House building on February 25, 2012. H.A. Dorsten, Inc. has partnered with Crown on numerous projects throughout the years, and when word of the fire spread, our crews were there the next day to offer any assistance with the clean-up, insurance estimates and “buttoning up” of what was left of the structure.
Crown immediately began planning for what could replace this structure, but ultimately decided to reconstruct the building and build a new office building connected to the Boesel Opera House, with unique features to complete the downtown buildings.
The project was designed and priced in phases; Phase One included basement and structural steel. Thirty percent of labor was self-performed. H.A. Dorsten, Inc. self-performed concrete wall forming, structural steel erection and all finish carpentry work.
