Christina Zamora Urbina's Bio

After graduating from the University of Arizona in late 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, I happened to come across an entry level accounting assistant position for a floor covering company in February 1995. Eager to learn and acquire knowledge so I could move on and move up, I accepted the position and didn’t realize at that time I would be calling this place “Home!” 30 years later. I am part of a team like no other; the integrity, quality and professionalism we place on ourselves and technicians are something I am truly proud of.
When not working, I love reading, watching movies, spending time with my family and cheering on our AZ Wildcats!
Congrats from your TCC family on being named a Finalist in the Small Company category (<$15M) CFO of the Year 2015 Awards by the Tucson Local Media's publication Inside Tucson Business!

Susan Hoblit's Bio

After almost 24 years in Multi-family & Mixed Use Real Estate Development, Management and Marketing the opportunity to enter the Flooring Industry in 2006 was a welcome change and a definite challenge. Although I had years of developing and over-seeing ground-up construction, I admit saying many times “It’s just flooring”….I knew the fuzzy side went up and thought the installation process was fast and easy. Needless to say, I have learned quite the contrary. The process involved to realize a successful project is so complex; product knowledge, estimating, contract review, project management, schedule planning, floor preparation, installation, field supervision, moisture issues and trade coordination – believe me “It’s not JUST flooring”! As a member of the Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership education and experience is a priority. A priority I and my team take full advantage of.
Not unlike real estate, the flooring industry is never boring or stagnant, we not only learn something new every day; some days we learn numerous lessons. I take these lessons and make every effort to convert them into policies and procedures that ultimately protect the future of Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc., our contracting clients and of course the end-users who have invested thousands of dollars, hours of time, blood, sweat and tears to assure they are creating an appropriate impression in the environment in which they do their business.
The remaining founder of Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. has a strong desire to ensure his company and over 50 years of hard work successfully transitions long into the future. He graciously offered key staff members the ability to take the helm and become Shareholders. As a Shareholder, President & General Manager of the group I take the responsibility seriously and with a great deal of honor. Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. has a loyal, dedicated and professional team that genuinely cares about each of our clients and our reputation. I sincerely enjoy negotiating contracts, working with General Contractors and their end-users and explaining our philosophy of “We would rather say no and walk away than to perform work that we can’t be proud of, or isn’t in the best interest of the development team”…hence our motto “We Stand on Quality”.

Maria Santa Cruz's Bio

With over 23 years of experience in flooring I have made many long life friends & business associates in this challenging business. Every day and every job is different than the day before. You can say it’s an adventure to conquer! My educational background is interior design, so this adventure is perfectly suited to my aspiration to make an environment a place people want to be. Upon completion of my design degree I joined Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. and have happily never looked back!
I truly get so much pleasure when we have a completely satisfied client, whether it’s their home or their business renovation project. Over 23 years, I have had opportunities to work with a large variety of projects; from custom homes, educational facilities such as the U of A & Pima Community College, to medical institutions like Carondelet, UMC and Adult Care Communities, and most recently the ability to work with local Casinos/Hotels owned by our Native American Tribal Nations as well as the prized Ritz Carlton Hotel and Golf Resort.

Gary Hurd's Bio
After years of installing various flooring materials in Ohio and enduring long winters an opportunity to move West was welcomed, so along with my family I was happy to call Tucson home! From 2007 to 2009 I enjoyed a Field Supervisor position at Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. Although I loved installing and the true feeling of accomplishment when an installation was complete, Field Supervision allowed over-seeing commercial installations and coordinating site requirements with General Contractors and the ability to get "off my knees"!
2009 brought about many changes in the construction industry and without the luxury of possessing a crystal ball I accepted a facilities maintenance position at one of Tucson's top employers. While I appreciated the stability; after almost 6 years I realized that flooring was in my blood. The stars were apparently aligned; I made the call to Tucson Commercial Carpet and was informed of a new product and service line they would be offering - NEVERSTRIP - with my background in facilities maintenance it was a perfect fit...so as they say, the rest is history and it was "meant to be"!
