Our Story

Pacific Rim Environmental (PacRim) is a locally owned, King County Certified SCS (small contractors and suppliers) SBE environmental consulting firm. It was founded in 1990 with the mission to deliver the most accurate and reliable environmental consulting services to clients throughout the Pacific Northwest. We build long-lasting relationships with a diverse clientele by consistently delivering quality service to a wide range of building owners, developers, property managers, general contractors and various government agencies.

  • Scope of Service:  PacRim surveys industrial, commercial and multi-unit residential properties for the presence of regulated materials and potentially hazardous environmental conditions i.e., asbestos, lead, universal waste, silica and mold. PacRim prepares comprehensive plans for the effective and efficient management of such materials or conditions. The company also oversees third party contractors during the implementation of our management abatement plans.  PacRim is leading the industry in electronic data collection. From field forms to reports, our clients are updated in real time with project status.
  • Company history: For thirty years, Pacific Rim Environmental (PacRim) has been providing environmental consulting services and regulated material management for public and private agencies around the Pacific Northwest. PacRim has assembled a team of highly qualified environmental consultants with experience in both the consulting and contracting sides of the industry.  PacRim’s personnel are experienced regulated building material inspectors, who will provide in-depth base of knowledge and timely, concise communication with appropriate parties for even the most challenging projects or scenarios. PacRim has performed surveys on well over 7,000 projects, and our experience provides a comprehensive basis of understanding which will enable an efficient and technically complete end product.
  • Communication: It has been PacRim’s experience, that maintaining easy and reliable communication, is an integral part of providing high quality client service throughout the duration of a project. Understanding our current, ever changing climate, written COVID-19 protocols, online virtual meetings, and the ability to provide electronic field documentation in a timely manner is crucial and will provide our clients with up-to-date information on their projects in real time as updates occur.
  • Continuity:PacRim has been effectively run as a small locally-owned business for 30 years. Throughout those years Jeff Lewis, the Principal in Charge and company owner, has been able to build and maintain good relationships with employees both past and present. Staff stability and team consistency is an integral part of the continued success that PacRim has been able to maintain throughout our 30-year history. This stability as well as the depth of skills that PacRim possesses, will help us maintain continuity during the life of any contract without a gap in services or skill.
  • Project Support (Field Documentation):  PacRim has taken the lead in the local environmental industry, by designing and implementing electronic field documentation forms for regulated building materials surveys, daily logs, project oversight, work area clearance, air monitoring, etc., Forms are prepared and stored on the field technician’s company provided secure tablet or phone.  Copies of the electronic forms are also uploaded into our company’s secure drive at the end of each shift, and for QA/QC purposes the drive is checked daily to make sure completed paperwork has been uploaded for each of the previous days’ projects.  PacRim is prepared to work with our clients to design electronic project documentation forms to meet their needs and requirements.
  • Rapid Response: PacRim’s ability to respond quickly comes from the following approaches we utilize.
      • Company owned rapid response vehicles which are loaded with the equipment needed to respond to regulated material incidents
      • Asbestos samples are analyzed in our NVLAP accredited in-house lab. Rushed samples can be moved to the front of the queue for rapid results
  • Local employees, crossed trained and who are interchangeable on projects to provide the best service to our clients and are dispatched remotely with digital project information for emergency response.
