Scope Of Work

Exterior Restoration:  Daniel J. Keating Company was Construction Manager for the restoration of both the Main Building on Broad Street (originally designed by John Fraser) and the Middle and 15th Street Buildings (originally designed by Horace Trumbauer). Keating reconstructed the tower, cupola and decorative iron roof cresting on the structure, rebuilt the monumental stairs and balustrades at the Broad Street entrance using a combination of new brownstone and cast stone, cleaned and repaired the masonry of the Horace Trumbauer additions, and thoroughly repaired and refurbished all of the windows, doors, and exterior wood trim on the building.

Interior Restoration: Daniel J. Keating Company completed over $30 Million Dollars of interior renovations and construction to the historically certified Union League of Philadelphia. Projects include:

Ballroom & Kitchen Renovations – Complete renovation of the Lincoln Ballroom and new state of the art commercial Kitchen – $12.5 Million – 2014

Wine Cellar and Tasting Kitchen – $2.5 Million – 2014

The Heritage Center – 8,000 SF of new archives storage, library and exhibition space – $2.44 Million – 2011

The Inn at the League – 45,000 SF renovation of 67 hotel rooms and suites and total renovation of common areas – $4 Million – 1999

Parking garage renovations – $4 Million – 2009

New Smoking Lounge and Bar – $500,000 – 2011

The Union League of Philadelphia, one of three surviving Union Leagues in the United States, was founded in 1862 as a patriotic society to support the policies of President Abraham Lincoln. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
