We've heard a few times lately that some folks didn't call us because they thought we wouldn't deal with their small businesses.  That's simply not true!  The majority of our clients are small businesses and we do all we can to support small and independent businesses.  We work with clients who need between 3 and 700 phones and between 3 and 500 phone lines.  The majority of our clients are smaller businesses and the average number of phones we install for clients at a site is roughly 10.  If we don't have a good solution for your business we will let you know what your best options may be, even if they aren't options we can provide you with.  If you need at least 2 phones and 3 phone lines, we can help and are happy to do so!

America’s Phone Guys was started by Caleb Cook in 2001 to provide telecommunications solutions to businesses in the Portland, Oregon and Southwest Washington areas. Caleb’s wife, Lois joined the company in 2004 and the two of them run the business today.  The company is still operated here locally and has grown from just the two of them to a larger and more comprehensive operation over the past 17+ years.  The original name of the company was “Phone Guys”.

We started out selling analog and digital phone equipment and have evolved to mostly VoIP hosted phones and cloud phone service.  We still sell digital systems and hybrid digital VoIP systems as VoIP isn't a fit for everyone.  We are more than happy to help you determine which is the best fit for your business.  VoIP offers flexibility and some fantastic features but, everyone doesn't usually need them all.  We don't want you to pay for features you won't use.  The advantages to VoIP are things like saving money on your phone bill, being able to easily redirect your calls in the event of an Internet or power outage, having more control of your telecommunications, and saving capital on what can be expensive telecom equipment. Why doesn't everyone go with VoIP? Those without steady Internet connections can be frustrated by it, and those used to traditional phones and how they work can be challenged by VoIP phones. If you are used to having "line appearances" on your phone and a call on each one of those, parking calls & picking them up when you can't really see what line they are on may not be for you. It's not for everyone but, we are happy to help you figure that out.

We are members of the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) for which Lois is the Vice Chair of the Leadership Council for the state of Washington. Lois also volunteers for the Children's Cancer Association serving as a Chemo Pal Mentor to children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.  We are also involved with the Independent Electrical Contractors of Oregon with Lois serving on the Board of Directors for two years.  We are no longer a low-voltage cabling company as of a couple years ago though but, still involved.  We have lots of friends in the low-voltage & electrical industry so, do let us know if you need a referral!  We are happy to refer you to some of the best companies in the industry.

America’s Phone Guys technicians have a vast knowledge base in each of their respective areas. Our telephone system installers have each completed manufacturers certifications on the telephone and VoIP systems they specialize in. They then receive on the job training for no less than 6 months before we send them out to our customers on their own. And they always have access to Caleb’s expertise at any time as well as manufacturers technical support in most cases.

Our office is staffed with helpful, friendly folks ready to take your calls and do their best to answer your questions. Rebecca or Corinne will most frequently take your calls and make certain to get you connected to the answers you need. Rebecca is our Office Manager as well as a Remote Technician for some of our VoIP Clients.  She handles nearly everything you might need as well as coordinating VoIP Phone Service for new customers and helping with the porting process.  Corinne is our Customer Service Advocate who will be calling to check in with customers periodically to make certain we are meeting all of their telecom needs and handling the dispatching of service orders that come in through our web portal and email.  Cheryl retired back in August 2015 but, is still here on occasion filling in during vacations and when needed.

Our main focus at America’s Phone Guys is to provide the best value possible with fair prices and excellent service. Our staff is always willing to look for a solution to any and all of your business communication needs. If we can’t work on your particular phone system, we will do our best to find you someone who can. We maintain a list in our office of who in the Northwest works on which systems and where they are located.  We know how frustrating it can be to find the right company to help when you hardly understand telecommunications to start with.

We consider our team a family and we often have customers become friends. We treat others with honesty, fairness, integrity and loyalty. Do unto others as they say! We strive to do upon them one step further these days though which is as our customers wish, not just as we wish. We may not always figure that out right away but, we will do our very best to do so as expediently as possible.

America’s Phone Guys sell many of today’s top rated business telephone systems. Our main product lines have been Panasonic, Allworx & keeping those old Avaya Partner systems going for a while now. We’re also selling a number of VoIP, SIP and Hosted solutions from Polycom, Cisco, Snom, Yealink and Panasonic among others. And if you need an inexpensive VoIP Phone Service option we can provide that too.

In the past we’ve also sold Vodavi (aka Vertical), Samsung, Zultys, Toshiba and NEC DSX systems. We do provide service to customers with those systems as well. If we haven’t listed your system, it doesn't mean that we can’t work on it, there are far too many brands and types to list, so, if you don’t see your particular brand, call us! If we can’t help you, we will provide the phone number for a company who can.

Our service area covers most points in the Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington region. We normally cover from Hillsboro on the west side to Troutdale on the east, down through Wilsonville to the south and up to Longview on the north, including most points in between. If we can’t service your area, we will do our best to help you find a company who can.  We also service the coast (Astoria, Warrenton, Long Beach, etc…) ourselves and with a partner who formerly worked for us.  Customers in those areas seem to have difficulty finding reliable telecommunications contractors there.  We know that we and our partner based in Astoria are reliable as well as having great integrity so we look forward to serving more coastal businesses in the future.

Nearly all systems we install these days can be programed remotely.  That saves our customers money and time.  Rates for remote service work are subject to a 1/2-hour minimum only and of course there are no trip charges.  Most on site work is subject to a one hour minimum and a trip charge that depends on your location.  Emergency and Before or After hours service work is subject to a 2-hour minimum. 

Interested to know which VoIP carriers we work with?  We've found Nextiva & Jive are able to meet most of what our customers are looking for and do so reliably and with fair pricing and excellent customer support.  We have our own APG VoIP service as well and also work with Net2Phone and 8x8.  We've tried a number of others in the past and know a little something at least about most of them.  We had our own terrible experience with Vonage way back in the earliest days of VoIP and learned the hard way what to do and what not to do.  We've also converted lots of customers from Ring Central and Ooma when those weren't working well and even though those customers started off worried VoIP wouldn't work for them we've been able to convince them and provide them with reliable service.
