Aaron Scates's Bio

As COO of Northstar Builders, Aaron is responsible for overseeing success of all construction operations and ensuring that the needs of customers and business partners are being fulfilled. Aaron brings 23+ years of field operations experience to the company. His experience has been built on direct project supervision including positions as superintendent, project manager, estimator, and operations manager. Aaron’s hands-on experience provides seasoned practicality to complex fast tracked projects while understanding the value of believing in and treating people with respect
He has been married to Kristi for over 20 years and has two lovely daughters Maci and Isabel.
When looking for a break in the action, Aaron enjoys the outdoors: fishing, hiking, a loyal dog’s company, visiting with friends, and occasionally hitting a golf ball…or two if necessary!
Bruce D. Helm's Bio

Bruce’s 30+ years of experience has led to the successful completion of over $2 billion of K-12 work for North Texas School Districts. As president of Northstar Builders Group, Bruce is responsible for all aspects of the company’s business including but not limited to strategic initiatives, community engagement, profit and loss, pre-construction, and quality control. Bruce's primary focus is to ensure that on every project the clients’ goals are met and exceeded.
Bruce and wife Lori live in Coppell with their two daughters, Laura, a student at the University of Oklahoma and, Libby, a senior in High School. When away from the office Bruce can be found on the golf course.
Chris Rosenbaum's Bio
Chris, has extensive experience in a wide range of leadership, management and advisory positions. In the role of CFO, he provides executives with timely and accurate financial statements, ongoing cash flow projections, oversight over accounting and finance operations, as well as design and maintenance of the financial reporting structures.
In addition to his accounting and finance oversight responsibilities, Chris offers broad management, internal control and strategic advice to management in the areas of Human Resources and Information Technology.
Chris has broad experience in cash management, resource allocation and risk management. He is known as a quick study with a passion for his work, and prides himself on getting more done with less.
Chris and his wife Kendra live in Coppell where their 3 children Payton, Luke and Jia attend middle school and high school.
Outside of work, Chris stays busy spending time coaching basketball and watching his kids participate in football, basketball and dance.
Thomas Hinton's Bio
Tom brings over 25 years of experience in construction and has built projects ranging from $1,000,000 to $135,000,000. As general superintendent, his role is to provide solutions for operational issues in the field, and to be mentor and adviser to other team members. Tom is adamant about making sure the client’s needs are met and exceeded and about setting employees and subcontractors up to succeed.
Born and raised on a dairy farm in Ohio, Tom credits his parents for his work ethic, his “doing what’s right” attitude and his value of treating all people fairly. Tom has one daughter – Olivia; he and his wife Jana currently live in Aubrey Texas.

Chadd Guitreau's Bio
Chadd has 24+ years of experience in the construction industry. He has worked as project engineer, project manager, and superintendent, but has always been involved in pre-construction. He currently directs our pre-construction efforts. His varied experience makes him a great fit for Northstar's "pre-build" approach to pre-construction.
When not at work Chadd can often be found fishing or hunting…and occasionally found actually catching fish or bagging game.

Ben Reiners's Bio
Ben began his career by spending 2 years in architecture and then moved to construction management in 2007. He has worked as project engineer, project manager, superintendent and is currently a project manager. Ben’s passion for building schools is a perfect fit at Northstar Builders because they share the same passion.
Ben has two boys, Nathan & Noah, and when he isn’t busy with baseball, his wife Leslie has him busy at home with a honey-do-list. On rare occasions, Ben can be found relaxing lakeside fishing.
Jackie Ream's Bio
University of North Texas, BBA, Financial Planning
As, a Senior Project Manager of Northstar Builders, Jack brings over 19 years of experience to the company. He has completed over 32 K-12 projects ranging from $500,000 to $64,000,000 as well as 4 Higher Education projects. His role is to manage the project from the pre-construction phase through the warranty period and beyond. In addition, he ensures that the project is completed on schedule and under budget, with no surprises. Jack believes that a successful project is one that brings a team atmosphere to the project team, comprised of owners, architects and subcontractors.
Jack is married to his middle school sweetheart and wife of 16 years, Kristi. They live in Sunnyvale, Texas and have two daughters, McKinley and Trinity.
Jacob Dunkin's Bio
Jacob has worked in the construction industry for 8 years. He has spent time as a project engineer where his primary role was to assist the project team in material procurement, scheduling, safety enforcement and cost management. What he enjoys most about being with Northstar Builders is the focus on relationships and the team atmosphere where each member is a valued member.
During Jacob's free time he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and trying to fish.
Jason A. Crutcher's Bio

As senior project manager, Jason is responsible for all aspects of your construction project. Jason has worked with the Senior Management of Northstar his entire career of over ten years. Jason believes in creating an environment where all parties involved can be successful. As a Northstar Builder he takes particular care in making tough situations have positive outcomes while maintaining the project goals. Two things to know about Jason are that he will prove flexible and he believes that project managers should have a dusty pair of boots.
Outside of the hustle and bustle Jason can be found on the family farm enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing and any sport involving a ball. Jason is married to Niki Crutcher and is proud father of three children Hannah, Hogan, and Crawford.
Justin Dunkin's Bio
Justin has over 14 years of K-12 experience that includes projects such as summer renovations, extensive additions, athletic facilities and new ground up facilities. Majority of Justin's time has been spent serving North Texas school districts such as Argyle ISD, Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD and Frisco ISD. As project manager, Justin is involved from the pre-construction phase through the warranty period and beyond. Justin's experience has taught him that team work and communication are key elements to a successful project.
Justin enjoys spending quality time with his family and playing an occasional game of golf.
Niels Berzanskis's Bio
Niels has over 10 years of K-12 experience and 16 additional years of construction experience in other markets. Currently Niels is working as Project Manager but has also performed duties in the roles of Superintendent, Estimating and Project Engineering. Niels believes that active communication and coordination between the Designers, Consultants and Owner is the key to success in any K-12 project. A project is never lead from behind, but rather coordinated and planned in advance, and with that same team effort, it is then executed accordingly.
Niels enjoys snowboarding, backpacking and shotgun sports.
Philip Huffines's Bio
Philip has a wide variety of experience in the construction industry ranging from pre-construction estimator, assistant superintendent, project engineer, and project manager. He currently serves as project manager and helps the team on all aspects of the project and respond to the owner’s needs.
During Philip’s down time he enjoys spending time with his wife Amy and two boys, Luke and Mason
