Scope Of Work
Community support was outstanding for this replacement hospital located in the rural community of Bremen, Indiana. The facility is Indiana’s first critical access hospital, and is located approximately three miles from the previous facility.
Christman was contracted under a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) agreement with a budget that was guaranteed at the design development stage of the design process. The final bids came in at 0.3% under the design development budget. The design development budget was established and held to by the project team based on a revised schematic budget that was finalized after an extensive value analysis effort. A value analysis workshop was conducted and led by Christman, which resulted in nearly $1.3 million in savings without compromising the intent of the original program.
From the start, Christman played a significant role in the development of this facility, which has successfully brought essential services to the local residents and surrounding counties.
