Our History

Two Generations of Quality

Founded in 1960, Keller Brothers, Inc. was built on the ideals of craftsmanship, responsibility and maintaining the highest business principles.  Originally named Standen Keller after the founding partners, brothers Stanley G. Keller and Phillip D. (Dennis) Keller, the company has kept its foresight strong and its standards high through the decades.  Today, keeping the family’s traditions and passion for construction alive, Phillip D. Keller, Jr. serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Jay D. Keller serves as Vice President of Keller Brothers, Inc.

A Move from Residential to Commercial

Since our inception, we have produced a diverse portfolio of projects, beginning with residential homes during our first decade.  Dennis Keller organized the development of communities such as Sugarloaf Estates in Frederick, Maryland, as well as custom homes in the prestigious neighborhoods of Bethesda and Potomac.  In the early 1970’s, we began building and renovating banks, office buildings and churches.

Over the years, Keller Brothers has developed an exceptional rapport with architects, investors, suppliers and vendors.  We have grown to a full time staff of 36, including a number of dedicated managers that have been with us for many years.  We take advantage of every resource offered to the trade to stay ahead of the competition but exceeding industry standards at every level.  A devoted member of the Metro Washington Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Keller Brothers, Inc. understands today’s challenges and is ready to meet the future challenges of the ever-evolving construction industry.

Diversifying and Expanding

In Keller Brothers’ continuing efforts to expand and enhance our position in the construction industry, Keller Construction Management and Canyon Contracting, Inc. have been added to the Keller family of companies in recent years and have already made significant contributions to our enduring success. Keller Construction Management was created in 2010 in order to accommodate the evolving needs of our customers, starting from a project’s inception in the planning phase all the way through design and completion. Canyon Contracting, Inc., founded in 2003, is a concrete construction company specializing in government, private, and competitively bid public sectors.
