I am a graduate out of the College of Health and Human Services at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI looking to advance my knowledge in health informatics and information management. It took me a while to find out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, but I am so happy with the major I chose! I am interested in all of what health information technology has to offer!
At Western, I was involved in the Business Technology Network Organization. This organizations helped me build on my professional skills, meet with companies, and increase my connections through networking. My senior capstone class was special topics in nursing that was devoted to working closely with Streamline Healthcare Solutions in Kalamazoo. At Streamline I worked underneath the close supervision of a business analyst and my responsibility was to develop test scripts for their clients software that was undergoing production.
Throughout the past two years at Western, I have worked in one of the dining halls on campus and was promoted to Student Supervisor after my 1st semester. This position has improved my leadership skills by taking on the responsibility of overlooking 10+ workers daily and training new employees. My other responsibilities included: motivating team effort and communicating daily responsibilities to all employees.
I am ready to pursue a career in Healthcare and am passionate to learn even more about information technology in the future. I can be reached via email: jeff.a.werniak@wmich.edu
