“THE FIRST OF ITS KIND” INDUSTRIAL CAULK & SEAL DOES THEIR PART IN BRINGING GUINNESS TO AMERICA

By: Chip Marshall
August 2018

Guinness. A name that every beer lover knows, opened its first brewery in America since the 1950’s this month located in Halethorpe, Maryland. The building, previously a liquor distillery, left the remains of what became one of the most challenging floor restorations Industrial Caulk and Seal has experienced in their decades of operating. ICS started this project back in February of this year, and at the time, had a difficult time understanding the customer’s expectation. After several conversations and multiple test samples, ICS was off and running. The biggest obstacle for Industrial Caulk and Seal was leaving an “industrial” like floor. As previously mentioned, this floor once serving a liquor distillery morphed the concrete into more of a gravel like surface rather than the typical flat concrete floor that would come to mind. Chris Kilgore (ICS Foreman) was able to provide that “industrial” and “rustic” look using a variation of steps and tooling. The floor being one of the roughest ICS has ever seen resembled the surface of the moon; SASE orange series long life diamonds were real life saver when it came to providing the customer their desired look. Couple that with a number of repairs and what was left was the floor Guinness sought after from conception. At approximately 32,000 square feet of polished concrete, Guinness now has a floor that is inviting to the customer and simple to maintain with ICS Maintenance Program. ICS is proud and excited to show off this floor to any/all future customers. Cheers, it’s a lovely day for a Guinness.
