Scope Of Work

Skanska provided preconstruction and construction management services for the City of Portland on the 75,000-SF Portland Fire and Rescue Station. The station sits alongside the Willamette river in Portland's southeast waterfront district and replaces a 60-year old facility to meet the needs of rescuers and acommodate equipment for essential emergency response services, including water rescue. The project includes ground stabilization work, site improvements and installation of perimeter security lighting. Our work was performed in multiple phases to minimize disruption for rescue operations and foot traffic on the public walk-ways surrounding the facility. Sustainable principles were integrated in the construction of the project, which targeting a LEED Gold certification. Sustainable features include site location, daylighting and controls, state-of-the-art HVAC systems, eco-roof and sustainable material selections.
