Fred B. Roedel III's Bio
Fred Roedel is always up for a rugby match, as well as a day skiing on the slopes or the lakes. Those are his passions. It’s that same kind of passion he brings to his position as Chief Financial Officer for Roedel Companies.
Whether he’s securing capital to meet the strategic growth of the company, managing cash flow or overseeing all financial accounting and reporting functions of the company, Fred attacks his job like he’s taking on a black diamond run.
So, while he waits to make that bucket list trip to heli-ski in Alaska, Fred continues to help define success for Roedel Companies as one of the founding members.
Fred combines his love of rugby and instincts for finances by serving on the Finance Committee for USA Rugby. He has also been a past treasurer and executive committee member of USA Rugby, and currently serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors for The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua and the Daniel Webster Council of the Boys Scouts of America.
Glenn A. Hardman's Bio
There are few people more familiar with the Roedel Companies story than Glenn Hardman. After all, he’s helped write a lot of it over a career that spans more than 30 years.
Glenn started with Chalet Susse right after graduating from the University of New Hampshire and worked his way up to vice president of hotel operations. When the Roedels sold off their interests in Chalet Susse and began Roedel Companies, and after a brief stint outside the company, Glenn returned to be an integral part of the new team.
Glenn is currently the President of RGH Hospitality. He is responsible for monitoring the profit and loss of Roedel Companies, as well as developing and executing annual business plans to maximize free cash flow and return on investment for owners and investors.
Glenn and his wife Melissa are the proud parents of two sons and one daughter, not to forget a dog and cat. He is also proud of his connection to UNH and serves as the chair of the UNH Hospitality Advisory Board and supports the UNH Foundation. In his spare time, Glenn jumps on a bike (the pedal kind) and goes for a ride.
With the busy lifestyle Glenn leads, he has developed an appreciation for leftovers. In fact, his favorite food is re-heated chop suey. Like a healthy business relationship, Glenn believes food can get better in time.
Sue Pollio's Bio
Growing up within the hotel business, Sue Pollio wanted to do more than succeed, she was looking to develop her own niche. With an ability to focus on the individual elements that make up the big picture, Sue decided to found RSJ Associates in 2009. Today, RSJ is Roedel’s preferred partner for interior design and procurement.
Starting her own business took courage. Luckily, Sue is a born adventurer. She enjoys exploring new things and finding inspiration in nature. This passion has taken her skiing in the Alps, and someday she’d like to hike the Pacific Crest Trail.
When she’s not adventuring, Sue loves surrounding herself with humor. If she didn’t already have her two sons as comic relief, she would adopt Kristen Wiig as her best friend. She believes that laughing is a key component to living a fulfilled and happy life.
“Don’t become something just because someone else wants you to, or because it’s easy; you won’t be happy. You have to do what you really, really, really, really want to do, even if it scares the shit out of you.” -Kristen Wiig

Martin LeGay's Bio
Growing up, Martin wanted to be a chef. He thought making good food was a great way to put a smile on people’s faces.
Today, Martin may not be heating up the kitchen, but he’s still fired up when it comes to taking care of people. As our trusted Director of Operations, Martin is responsible for the overall success and profitability for all hotels within Roedel Companies’ portfolio. He has 25 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant business, and has found that living by the quote “good people make good things happen” helps him maintain the values of Roedel Companies in everything he does.
Martin’s philosophy also gives direction to his time outside work. He is involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters, serves as an advisor to Nashua High School’s culinary arts program, and is a board member to the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development’s Youth Council.
One of the best things that ever happened to Martin was meeting his wife Dawn and having a daughter. His family enjoys hiking, camping and hitting up the beach. And there’s nothing better to end a beach day than Martin’s indulgence of an ice cream treat.
Rick Dean's Bio
Rick Dean knows that a good story is built on the details, and his constant focus on the details of Roedel’s operations has ensured that our story flourishes. As Operations Specialist, Rick spearheads the task force for Roedel Companies’ major acquisitions and transitions new hotels to our portfolio by working to establish Standard Operating Procedures.
Rick is inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien and George R. R. Martin, both of whom are well known for their detailed fictional worlds. R. R. Dean hasn’t caught on yet as a nickname for Rick, but we feel he’s deserving of the moniker.
Rick lives both his personal and professional lives to the fullest. He was chosen as a 40 under 40 in 1997 by Connecticut’s New Haven Business Times and was in charge of regional operations for Roedel’s predecessor, Chalet Susse International. He enjoys skiing, tropical vacations, and used to be a professional drummer. Rick is also passionate about supporting The Wounded Warrior Project, UNICEF and ASPCA.
With an understanding that no good story is ever finished, Rick would like to title his autobiography “To Be Continued…”

David W. Roedel's Bio
Despite David Roedel’s wealth of experience in customer service, marketing and real estate, he claims that his most valuable job was bartending at Snuffy’s Pub in Saranac Lake, N.Y. In between pouring cold drafts and keeping the patrons happy, he had the epiphany that how he treats others has a direct effect on his success.
While there may still be times when he yearns to be behind the bar, David now spends his time as a Business Development Officer at Roedel Companies, responsible for acquisition and development deals, the sales effort for third-party ROK Builders and RGH Hospitality contracts, marketing and public relations. He plays a supporting role in third-party sales efforts, marketing and public relations. Like a trusted bartender, David finds it beneficial to never shy away from difficult or awkward conversations. Opportunities are discovered by engaging in deep conversations with complete strangers.
David brings his passion for people and service to the community. He has served on the board of directors for the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Manchester and Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire. On top of that, he also coaches girls lacrosse.
Being the only man at home with wife Mary Lynn and three daughters, David would like to consider himself an expert on women. As proof, he’ll tell you Tangled is one of his favorite films.
Maureen Shelley's Bio
Maureen Shelley is the Director of Employee Development, so if it touches our employees, it falls under her umbrella. She cares deeply about the development of our people and the culture of our company, taking pride in the fact that she got to be a part of the team that helped create the Mission, Vision and Core Values for Roedel Companies in 2013.
Being in a role that helps others through professional development, advancement and recognition is a responsibility she doesn’t take lightly. She was raised to believe in the American Dream and that anything was possible as long as you worked hard and treated others with respect.
With the sky as the limit, Maureen dreamed of becoming a flight attendant when she was young. She thought nothing could be better than traveling the world and meeting new people from different cultures. Lucky for us, she has found her calling piloting the way forward for Roedel Companies and our employees.
Her passion for all people runs deep. With the knowledge that every individual’s contribution is important, Maureen has served as a board member for Friends of CHaD, Jayme’s Fund and Leadership Manchester.
When Maureen isn’t working, she enjoys engaging in any activity that brings her outside and allows her to spend time with friends and family. Maureen has a special place in her heart for humor. She considers herself blessed to have a husband of 25 years that makes her laugh and a teenage daughter who shares his sense of humor, surrounding her with smiles and laughter.

Colleen Casey's Bio
When something needs to get done, go to Colleen Casey. As the Manager of Administration, Colleen oversees all administrative functions and processes within Roedel Companies. She’s been involved with the hospitality business her whole life, and knows it front to back.
Colleen also knows the business from atop a horse, having previously owned and managed an adult boarding and equestrian property. This is in addition to running a private sporting club for shooting, fishing and the outdoors.
With this background, it should come as no surprise that Robin Hood is Colleen’s favorite fictional character. Colleen is passionate about donating her time to important causes such as the NHSPCA and American Cancer Society.
She loves coming home to her two dogs: a German Shorthair Pointer and a Black Lab, but as a hospitality aficionado, Colleen also loves traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures. Her favorite destinations so far have been the South of France, Tuscany and Corsica.
Fred B. Roedel's Bio
At the heart of Roedel Companies, you’ll find Fred B. Roedel.
Before founding his namesake company, Mr. Roedel was the man behind the former Chalet Susse International, one of the largest privately owned hotel chains in the Northeast. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Roedel had no experience in the hotel industry. As president of a food consumer products company, he spent a great deal of time traveling. He started his company with the belief that there was a strong need for, and an opportunity to develop, a chain of hotels that accommodated the business traveler. He determined a market opportunity for affordable business travel, and grew it on a foundation of extraordinary customer service.
Today, Mr. Roedel acts as an advisor in developing and implementing the strategic and annual business plans for Roedel Companies. You might find him strolling through the offices with his beloved Golden Retriever Perley at his side, bringing a smile to everyone’s faces.
