Scope Of Work
C.T. Taylor was awarded the $10,000,000 addition to Brecksville’s Recreation Center on a competitive bid basis.
The new Human Services Center was a unique project in many ways. The design was reminiscent of an earlier period where attention to detail and hand craftsmanship was the order of the day. Being an addition, the construction phase required working in close proximity to the public patrons. The convenience and most importantly the safety of the public was paramount, and was accomplished without incident throughout the life of the project.
With the therapy pool located on the lower level, it was necessary to underpin the original structure. C.T. Taylor’s engineers designed and installed a system of hydraulically placed jacks to prevent any settlement of the structure.
Major trades performed by C. T. Taylor on this project included the post tensioned concrete frame, retaining walls and finished carpentry.
When all was said and done on this immensely detailed and challenging project, change orders were held to less than two percent of the original cost.
The project was awarded an honorable mention in AGC of Ohio’s 2006 Build Ohio Awards Program.
