Mr. Shears boasts twenty-two (22) years of specialty demolition and environmental remediation experience. His hard work, determination, and quest for customer satisfaction has provided the foundation on which Progress Environmental was built. 

Mr. Shears has designed and overseen myriad environmental projects which include schools, commercial office buildings, airports, military bases, hospitals, government facilities, churches, and utility plants. His attention to detail in scheduling and performance are unparalleled.

Mr. Shears strives to provide his work force and management team the core values with which to achieve successes in their personal growth, as well as for Progress Environmental, as a whole.

Mr. Christopher Druin started his ever-expanding career in the environmental remediation business in 1985. Mr. Druin’s experience is highlighted by complex projects at many active, operational Federal Government Agencies. His outgoing personality and authenticity are key elements of how he makes Progress stand out in a pre-bid meeting and why his customers enjoy working with him so much. His willingness to work hard for our customer’s satisfaction keeps us at the top of our contact’s bid lists, especially when looking for an emergency response.

Some of his most notable recent projects have taken place at Roosevelt High School, GSA Building 213 Phases I & II, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, National Gallery of Art, National Geographic Society, and the FDIC.

Mr. Druin is EPA AHERA certified as an Asbestos Supervisor and is licensed in the tri-state area. He also holds certificates in Mold Remediation, Confined Space, Hazwoper, and CPR/ First Aid.

Mr. Ralph Boldyga joined the Progress Environmental LLC team in August of 2017.
He has worked in the hazardous remediation industry after leaving the Nuclear Health Physics field in 1986. His background includes 10 years in the Industrial Hygiene field. Since 1996 he has designed, estimated and managed numerous asbestos, lead, demolition, and hazardous materials projects throughout Maryland, VA and DC. His extensive experience includes schools, commercial office buildings, airports, military bases, hospitals, shopping malls and governments facilities.
Mr. Boldyga is a licensed asbestos supervisor and project designer who’s primary focus is working with clients to develop and design their remediation projects so they can be safely completed on schedule and within budget.

Our newest addition, Scott joined Progress in 2019 as a Project Manager/Estimator. Scott brings 26 years of experience in the industrial hygiene and environmental services field and an affinity for relationship management. Previously, Scott spent 24 years at Apex Companies, LLC, where he transitioned from Environmental Scientist to Program Manager of their Rockville Maryland Industrial Hygiene Department. Scott’s experience in operational leadership, organizational effectiveness, and unwavering focus on customer service meld very well in Progress’ business culture. He earned his BS degree in Business Management in 1989 from Frostburg State University and maintains certifications in asbestos and lead paint project design, inspection and removal supervision, mold assessment and hazardous waste operations and emergency response. During off-hours Scott can be found enjoying the outdoors – fishing, golfing, barbequing, railfanning or simply spending quality time with family.

Ms. Mitchell joined the team in January 2012 and with a background in Industrial Hygiene adds another dimension to Progress’ abatement services. Her acquired knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations helps during the project design process.

Since 2000, Ms. Mitchell has performed tasks ranging from Indoor Air Quality & Water Sampling in DC Public Schools to Demolition and Environmental Project Management for organizations such as National Institutes of Health, US Naval Research Laboratories, and the US Naval Academy. She is responsible for overall project management, as well as health and safety compliance
