Dan’s experience in project management has been a tremendous benefit on every job he oversees—which have covered educational, religious, financial, commercial, industrial, government and retail markets. As project manager for Borton, he effectively leads the team while working closely with all aspects of the design/build process including administering contracts and change orders, maintaining schedules and budgets, and conducting weekly progress meetings. Dan’s mechanical engineering degree from Marquette University is an aid to projects, equipping him to breakdown and solve problems that arise without compromising schedule or budget. 

Borton's growth allowed us to expand our management staff in 2011. The addition of Jim Fink to our staff has enhanced our project management team with his experience in drywall and construction management. Jim's background includes his years in the field as a Union Carpenter as well as ten years of project management and estimating experience. His educational background includes a degree in Agriculture Business Management and continuing education in Construction Management. He holds certifications in OSHA, EIFS and steel framing. Jim is active at St. Patrick's Catholic Church through his Knights of Columbus membership and stays active in the community through his children's activities.

As President and co-owner of Borton Construction, Inc., Paul takes a personal interest in every project, often serving as project manager. With over twenty-four years of experience and a degree in Industrial Technology Construction Management, Paul’s experience allows for effective project coordination, contract administration, scheduling, and budget containment. By conducting weekly project meetings, Paul keeps the owner and subcontractors informed and on task. Paul’s knowledge of design, government processes, means and methods, budgeting, and scheduling ensures your project is completed on-time with high quality and at your budget. Paul’s exceptional attention to detail allows for successful projects time after time. Paul is also a leader in church, civic groups, and boards including serving as the Boy’s & Girl’s Club Board President and Franciscan Healthcare Foundation Board President. Has has also served as a La Crosse Promise Board member, Myrick-Hixon EcoPark Board member, and Valley View Rotary Club and Logan Alumni Association member. One of his favorites - serving as a volunteer baseball and basketball coach for the Boys & Girls Club.

Blake Dixon joined the Carpenters' Union in 2012 after graduating from Waukon High School in Waukon, Iowa. Prior to joining our office team as Assistant Project Manager in 2019, Blake worked as a drywall finisher for 2 years with our expert Field team. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, bow hunting and duck hunting. Blake has assisted us with multiple bar/restaurant projects in his first year on our office team.

Caleb Carpenter joined our team as Assistant Project Manager in March of 2020. He has over 12 years of experience in the commercial construction industry as a Laborer and Caulker. After spending his first 30 years in the small town of Plain, WI, he moved to Onalaska with his fiance. Caleb enjoys many activities outside of work including working on friend's and family's houses, golfing, basketball, volleyball, watching sports on TV and attending Badger football games as a season ticket holder.

Gretchen Clements joined our team in 2014 as our Administrative Assistant. Her background primarily consists of 20 years in the hospitality business holding various positions including Night Auditor, Front Office Manager, and Group Sales. Additionally, she has an Associate Degree in Business Administration - Personnel. Gretchen is very active with Logan High School Show Choir and other various activities that her daughter is involved with at school.

Borton’s reputation for professionalism is based in part on attention to administrative details. Melissa efficiently manages all accounting aspects of each project as well as managing the marketing projects of the corporation. Large and small projects benefit from Melissa’s business oversight. Her degree in Business Administration from UW-La Crosse as well as advanced certifications in human resource management add tremendous value to the client relationship and project outcome. Melissa is also very active in community activities including past affiliations with the United Way Leadership Circle, The Parenting Place, Big Brothers Big Sisters, La Crosse Public Education Foundation and the La Crosse Promise.  She currently spends the majority of her volunteer time assisting Logan High School coaches with various fundraising events as well as helping out the Logan Booster Club.  She is currently a mentor in the Be GREAT Graduate program at the Boys and Girls Club in which she serves as a mentor to students needing guidance to assure they graduate from high school.
