Our Story

Marc Truant & Associates, Inc. specializes in providing preconstruction planning and construction management services for institutional, residential and commercial clients in the Boston area.

Founded over twenty years ago by architect Marc Truant, the company has a commitment to quality which has garnered the firm a number of awards and a reputation for excellence.

What makes Marc Truant & Associates, Inc. different from other builders?

We Build Relationships

Some clients say it's our ability to listen and collaborate. Others say it's our patience. Still others cite our ability to get things done in the face of seemingly impossible constraints. All those things are possible because we do more than build buildings. We build relationships with architects, with subcontractors, and with owners—many of whom we've worked with for over fifteen years. Our collaborative approach, based on open, honest communication, assures that each project is completed with the skill and care that has given our company its reputation for excellence.

Our Expertise

When you work with Marc Truant & Associates, Inc. you receive attentive, individualized service from a senior-level manager, most of whom have advanced degrees in the fields of architecture and engineering from top universities such as MIT. All site supervisors are licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Throughout the year, all employees pursue professional and career development by attending courses and workshops in areas such as management, safety, and cutting-edge construction techniques. The expertise of Truant project managers and supervisors gives your project thoughtful and intelligent leadership.

Every project is supported by advanced accounting, scheduling, and project management software. That means we have the tools to manage your project while meeting your budget and your schedule—and you have access to accurate, detailed, and timely information whenever you want it.

As experienced construction managers we know how to work effectively with local architectural commissions, zoning boards, municipal building departments, and environmental and other regulatory agencies. This ensures that your project's approval process will run as smoothly as possible.

Leadership in Environmental Sustainability

Marc Truant & Associates, Inc. takes a leadership role in environmental sustainability throughout the life of a project. A shared concern for stewardship of our natural resources has led a majority of the Truant construction staff to become LEED® Accredited Professionals.

Two of our recently completed projects are being submitted to the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC) for LEED certification. The headquarters of Gravestar, Inc. are being proposed for a LEED-CI Silver rating. A private residence recently completed is currently being submitted as the nation's first residential project to be certified by the USGBC under the newly established LEED for Homes pilot program. The "green" construction of this home will guide future projects throughout the United States designed under the LEED for Homes Program.

Our Commitment to Safety

Training and planning are the keys to our successful safety program. We are long-standing members of the Associated General Contractors Safety Service, and our staff has made extensive use of their training and consulting services. Project managers and superintendents modify and update our Safety Program for the specifics of each project. In addition, all superintendents are required to complete 30-Hour OSHA training and be certified in First-Aid and CPR.

Our outstanding safety record includes zero lost workdays for the past seven years.
