Scope Of Work
Situated along the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Miami Beach, the Soho Beach Club includes two components: a modernization of the existing 7 story historic Sovereign Hotel and a 16 story addition. Completed in September 2010, the new resort features more than 50 luxury hotel rooms and suites, a large club area with restaurants and bars, the trademarked Cowshed Spa, 3 swimming pools and retail shops.
As construction manager, Moss worked through the latter part of the preconstruction planning phases to ensure the owner’s budget and schedule requirements were met. This challenging project required regular communication and coordination with various consultants, city building officials and the historic district. Proximity to adjacent commercial and residential structures, including the world renowned Fontainebleau Hotel, created unique safety and logistical challenges for on site crews who had limited access for staging. Extensive investigative demolition and remedial work to the existing 7 story structure was also part of the project’s scope.
