Testimonials
“We selected Jim Kitchin’s company, InterWorks, to construct a new master bathroom in our 1907, craftsman style, Portland Heights home. We had detailed architectural plans for the project which consisted of a custom 100 square foot bathroom with tile throughout, two skylights, custom woodworking, and oversize tub and separate shower. The space was previously a dressing area off the bedroom so walls had to be torn out and new plumbing located to this second story space. All the fixtures were of a high finish and quality.
At the outset, Jim worked with us on the price so that we could build what was designed. At all times during the construction, Jim and his employee Gail cleaned up and tried to be sensitive to our family’s needs. They took the time to build as according to the plans and specifications, and only deviated when it was to the project’s benefit. The subcontractors they used were professional and friendly. All changes were for the better, fully discussed and fairly priced. The final product was a great addition to our home, the quality was of a very high level, it was reasonable priced and professionally done. In short, we were very happy with Jim and Gail and would use them again and recommend them to friends."
"Thank you for a job well-done on our new bathroom addition. We appreciated working with you - and your eye for detail in the quality of work on the entire project."
"I would like to thank you for a job well done. There are always challenges, particularly with an old funky farm house like ours. But I really appreciated the way you always had our well being up front. It was a pleasure working with you."
“Please find enclosed a business card for Jim Kitchin. Jim is a contractor who just completed a $350K renovation of a 7,000 square foot 1920’s garage into an office complex for my family in connection with a lease with the State of Oregon.
Although this was the first project we’ve done with Jim, I would not hesitate for an instant to retain him as the general contractor on any project my family might pursue in the future. He has completed a number of projects for the State of Oregon as well as extensive T.I. work for the Scherzer Group.
We found Jim easy to communicate with, a good representative of our interest when dealing with the State and containing a refreshing blend of ethics and sense of humor. A rare blend in contractors wouldn’t you say? I always found him to be accessible and available at a moment’s notice. His subs performed quality work and took extra care to police the site during construction. Jim successfully steered the job through an unusually rigorous seismic retrofit review process by the City, and helped us not only fulfill, but exceed the State’s ADA requirements.
The project came in on schedule and $17,000 under budget. Quite a feat in this day and age when both the City and State have such stringent design requirements. I am passing his card on to you not so much to scare up work for him, but rather to make your work go easier by having a resource such as Jim to call on.”
