Emerald Construction Co., Inc.

Gib grew up in Martinsville, VA before coming to Richmond to pursue his BS in Business Administration and Finance at VCU. He began his construction career as a Project Accountant on the James Center Construction in downtown Richmond. After catching the construction bug, Gib eased into an Estimating role, then project engineer and eventually honed his project management and estimating skills with other construction firms in the Richmond area. In 2003, Gib and a partner launched their own general construction firm. In 2006 the firm merged with/acquired Emerald Construction. In 2012 Gib became the sole owner of Emerald.

Bryan recently started calling Richmond home, having grown up in Charleston, SC and coastal Maine.  As a teenager, it was during his summers in Maine where he learned craftsmanship working alongside his grandfather, a master home builder.   After a brief hiatus for his college and post-graduate years studying English Literature, Bryan returned to his first love, building, where he has honed his skills for more than 20 years, with a focus on healthcare, retail, light industrial, and commercial interior work. 

Away from the office, Bryan enjoys spending time with his family, cooking great meals, reading great literature, watching or playing soccer, and traveling.

Jim hails from King William County. He started with Emerald as a superintendent working on some of our larger projects. Currently, he serves as the Director of Operations overseeing all the project managers and field superintendents to ensure that Emerald delivers a quality experience for our clients. Also Jim takes a lead role with the Emerald Safety Committee. He brings his many years of experience from the field to make sure we are delivering consistency and safety on all our projects. Jim enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. Jim also claims he wishes he were a better golfer so if you see him on the golf course, he is not hunting or fishing just merely looking for his ball.

Rachael grew up in Central Pennsylvania and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Currently, she is working as The Director of Preconstruction. Rachael began her career at Emerald Construction as a Project Engineer after interning with the Company. She then became the Director of Preconstruction for several years. Rachael left Emerald to pursue her Professional Engineer’s license, working for two top-rated engineering firms in the area. After being the lead engineer for many projects, managing site plan design services, Rachael returned to Emerald.

Franci is a native of NC and moved to Richmond twenty-six years ago (1992). She graduated from UNC-Greensboro and Appalachian State University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. After spending her first career in healthcare working as a Psychologist in mental health centers, private practice and psychiatric hospitals, Franci’s career path somehow led to construction. Franci has been the head cheerleader of Business Development and Marketing (and many other things!) for Emerald for nineteen years. Franci is proud of Emerald and what it stands for: being client-driven and producing a quality product and experience. In her own time, Franci enjoys time with her husband, her cats, doing yardwork, pool time, reading, and visiting family in NC.
