Greg L. Butz's Bio
Greg currently oversees GATES Butz Institutional Construction as CEO and also serves as President & CEO of Alvin H. Butz. Inc. (www.butz.com ). The Butz family has a long, successful tradition of building that dates back to the mid-1800s. With Greg at the helm, the Butz family still owns and operates the company, preserving the tradition and stellar reputation passed down through five generations.
Butz has been consistently ranked among the 100 largest construction managers in the country since 1981 and has also been named as one of the Top 50 Green Contractors in the country, according to ENR Magazine.
Over the years, Butz developed an expertise in the construction of institutional projects. That expertise led Butz to partner with GATES in 2005 to form GATES Butz Institutional Construction, LLC to offer unparalleled institutional specialization to clients throughout the State of Florida. GATES Butz Institutional Construction has established itself as a leader in the industry constructing numerous projects in Florida and developing a growing list of repeat clients.
John A. Hayes's Bio
Mr. Hayes has over three decades of experience in the construction industry. As President and CEO of GATES Construction and President of GATES Butz Institutional Construction, LLC, he oversees all construction operations for GATES projects throughout Florida. Mr. Hayes is a qualifier for both companies and has played a key role in contributing to and assisting in management of the company’s growth.
Starting his construction career in his home state of Minnesota, Hayes graduated with highest honors from the Dunwoody Industrial College, School of Building Construction. His diverse range of projects through the years has included office buildings, government facilities, educational facilities, medical facilities, retail, commercial and luxury high-rise. A state licensed general contractor, Hayes has been involved in the industry as both the builder and developer.
Extremely active in the Southwest Florida community, Mr. Hayes is past Chairman of the Commercial Builders Council of the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA). He also served as past director of the CBIA and past director and treasurer of the Pelican Bay Rotary. He is a former board member for the Lee County Building Industry Association (BIA). Most recently Mr. Hayes was appointed as a Member of The City of Fort Myers Building & Zoning Oversight Committee. He also serves as a board member for The Education Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and the YMCA of the Palms. An avid sports fan, he has coached Jr. Everblades Travel hockey for the past fifteen years, and most recently was appointed to the coaching staff of the Florida Alliance AAA 01 team.
Marci Tiebout Touron's Bio
Marci Tiebout-Touron has over three decades of accounting and finance experience. As Chief Financial Officer, Mrs. Tiebout-Touron is responsible for all of GATES financial management as well as overseeing the Accounting department.
Starting her finance career in her home state of Connecticut, Mrs. Tiebout-Touron received her BA and MBA from the University of Connecticut. Her prominent background as a Financial and Accounting Manager lead her to Naples where she worked for WCI Communities, Inc., Collier Enterprises, and eventually owned her own business assisting small to midsize enterprises to profitability through financial analysis. Wanting to break back into the corporate world, Mrs. Tiebout-Touron joined GATES in November 2015.
Mrs. Tiebout-Touron is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a Licensed Community Association Manager (LCAM), and a board member of The Soccer Pit Youth Athletic Club. During her free time, she volunteers for the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.
Todd E. Gates's Bio
A native of Virginia, Todd Gates had been coming to Southwest Florida since 1969 and moved permanently to the area in 1984. As a Southwest Florida resident, he has been involved in the subcontractor project management of such projects as The Ritz Carlton Hotel, The Registry Resort and The Philharmonic Center of the Arts. In 1993, Mr. Gates founded GATES. Today, the firm is a fully integrated construction management, general contracting and design-buildfirm with offices in Florida and the Republic of Panama.
Mr. Gates is a past chairman of the Economic Development Council of Collier County (EDC). He is a Past Board of Trustees Member for the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation and a past member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors. He is a past board member of the Lee Memorial Health System Foundation, Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, Junior Achievement, President’s Council, Chamber of Southwest Florida and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Hodges University. Mr. Gates was instrumental in starting the “Soaring with Eagles Program” aimed at the area’s numerous retired CEO’s and military leaders. He is also an active member of Lee County Economic Development Horizon Council and Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce.
He is a past Chairman of the Christian Chamber of Southwest Florida as well as a past president of the Collier Building Industry Association, at the time, the largest builder and development association in the state of Florida, and was also named Builder of the Year in 2003. As acknowledgement of his commitment and dedication to the community, Mr. Gates was recognized in 2007 as one of Gulfshore Life Magazine's “Men of The Year” and well as one of the Education Foundation of Collier County’s “Men of Distinction”. Also in 2007, Mr. Gates was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Gulf Coast Business Review. Mr. Gates is a graduate of and highly active alumni member of Leadership Florida. The members of Leadership Florida are dedicated not only to their local communities, but to their statewide community.
In 2008, he was named as a finalist by Ernst & Young as a 2008 “Entrepreneur of the Year” of the state. Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida has named Mr. Gates as a 2008 Hall of Fame Laureate in recognition of his support and leadership as a role model for local areayouth. Also in 2008, Gulfshore Business Magazine recognized him as one of the “Top 50 Power Players” in Southwest Florida, ranking him number 10 on their coveted list.
Estimating, Purchasing & Preconstruction
Thomas McQueary's Bio
Thomas McQueary’s career spans over 20 years. As Director of Preconstruction & Estimating at GATES Construction, Mr. McQueary is responsible for overseeing the estimating department in providing comprehensive estimating for material take-offs and labor estimates as well as developing subcontractor scopes and bidding criteria. He collaborates with executive staff and the project team in all preconstruction services including sequencing, design review, constructability and life cycle analysis, value engineering, cost/budget analysis, and strategic planning all aspects of the projects.
Starting his construction career in his home state of Indiana, Mr. McQueary graduated from Indiana State University and received his B.S. in Construction Technology/Management. In 2015, he moved to Florida with his family to join the team at GATES Construction. Mr. McQueary thoroughly enjoys fishing, kayaking, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Kim Bragg's Bio
Kim Bragg has over three decades of experience in the construction industry; much of it in Palm Beach County and the surrounding counties. As Project Executive of the Palm Beach Gardens office, Mr. Bragg oversees and supports office staff and client relationships including preconstruction, construction, and overall customer experience.
Mr. Bragg graduated from Miami Dade College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. A state licensed general contractor, Mr. Bragg has been involved in the industry as both contractor and developer. His diverse range of project experience includes private club and amenities, healthcare, retail, office buildings, government, commercial and multi-family.
As a resident of Palm Beach County for over three decades, Mr. Bragg is actively involved in the local community.
Marco Petretta's Bio
Marco Petretta’s career spans over 20 years, and has focused on the construction of educational, government, healthcare, commercial, retail, luxury high rise condominiums, resort, and country club projects. As Director of Construction & Operations of GATES Construction, Mr. Petretta is responsible for the overall project coordination, from the pre-construction stage and permitting, through to owner occupancy. Mr. Petretta is a LEED Accredited Professional and has his ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate.
Starting his construction career in his native country Canada, he graduated from the University of Toronto and received his B.A.S. in Civil Engineering and a MEng in Structural Engineering. He moved to Florida in 1999 as a Structural Design Engineer before moving in to the construction field in 2001 and joining GATES in 2007.
When Mr. Petretta is not spending time with his wife and three daughters, he is actively involved in the community, coaching youth hockey.

Cora Harkins's Bio
Originally from Connecticut, Cora Harkins has over twenty five years of business development and marketing experience working for manufacturers and contractors. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Maryland in Theatrical Design and broadened her background with textile and interior design classes.
As Director of Business Development and Marketing, Cora is responsible for developing corporate strategies, company promotion, GATES’ company-wide networking plan, expanding territories and increasing market-share. She joined GATES in June 2018.
