Scope Of Work

The Western Connecticut Medical Group’s Primary Care Office created a new medical hub where patients now have convenient access to diagnostic imaging and clinical laboratory services. This facility features nine patient exam rooms, four physician offices, a blood draw center, and spaces for pulmonary and cardiology specialists to facilitate team-based care.

During the first phase of work an existing laboratory was converted into a new clinical laboratory for walk-in’s and patients seen via the emergency room. To ensure the safety of adjacent areas, a 1-hour fireproof barrier was constructed around the suite. Interstitial space was created for mechanical infrastructure and the sprinkler system was also addressed.

An inviting reception and waiting area was constructed for the primary care facility. This space along with the nurse’s station and offices all have custom millwork. Custom sliding doors were installed to accommodate a narrow corridor within the space. A negative air environment was maintained throughout the duration of the project.
