Scope Of Work
With electronic banking on the rise and branch visits on the decline, branch transformation is becoming important to the strategic growth of financial institutions. Integrating new technology and introducing new processes that perform the same traditional transactions are approaches that some banks are experimenting with.
In a movement away from traditional teller lines, alternative transaction deliveries are a new approach. This branch replaced conventional teller counters with semi-private offices / pods. Customers now interact in a welcoming, progressive and personal service setting, side-by-side with tellers rather than waiting in lines to be opposite a teller seated behind a counter. This concept gives the lobby an open and spacious feel and removes barriers between customers and tellers to create a more personal approach. Old style cash drawers are nonexistent in this space. Instead cash recyclers were installed. Many believe these dynamics create a more customer centric approach.
This renovation took place on State Street, one of the most high traffic areas in downtown Boston, in a 100+ year old, 10 story building. Due to the age of the structure and issues revealed during exploratory demolition, many deficiencies were identified and brought up to code. Our crew also managed and coordinated owner-contracted vendors and collaborated with the Boston Fire Department and Boston Inspectional Services Department to ensure occupancy. All work was performed off-hours and harmonized with multiple tenants.
