Fred Gruber's Bio
Fred Gruber is a Senior Vice President with Jewell Associates and a member of our Board of Directors. He is a skilled transportation project manager with extensive experience with urban and rural roadway and bridge projects. The majority of his work has been with municipal and county governments and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
As a registered land surveyor, he has extensive experience with right-of-way plats in urban and rural settings. His roadway experience includes total reconstructions, pavement rehabilitations, realignments, resurfacing projects, complex urban projects with utilities, streetscapes, and recreational trails. His bridge projects have included single-span and multiple-span bridges over water bodies, highways and rail crossings.
Greg Jewell's Bio
As company President, Greg Jewell provides oversight and general supervision for all phases of operations for Jewell Associates Engineers, Inc. and presides over the company’s Board of Directors. His experience includes project management with staff managers in each discipline, review of site plans, surveys, production drawings and fieldwork for transportation, structural and environmental engineering projects for clients in the public and private sectors. Other duties include direct daily contact with design engineers to coordinate staffing for various projects, provision of technical expertise to staff involved with structural and municipal projects, management of all company contracts, and human resources management. Greg also has extensive experience in the design of site plans for large industrial sites, commercial developments, and educational and governmental facilities.

Paul Kardatzke's Bio
Paul Kardatzke is a licensed Architect with a background in civil engineering. As a result of this combination of training and experience, Paul is uniquely qualified to understand and communicate both the aesthetic and pragmatic requirements of building projects.
During his professional career, he has demonstrated an ability to work on a wide variety of project types with a full range of construction systems and materials. He routinely performs as the design and project architect on projects, taking responsibility for assessing project requirements, evaluating building code and zoning impacts, designing and presenting building concepts to owners and oversight authorities, overseeing preparation of construction documents, and assisting owners with bidding and construction contract administration.

Scott Whitsett's Bio
Scott Whitsett is a Wisconsin Professional Engineer with experience in transportation design, stormwater plan design and construction engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Scott is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association.
Scott’s wife, Jessica, is a stay-at-home mom caring for their five children, Angelina, Thomas, Nathan, Joshua, and Natalie. A dog, Hunter, rounds out the household.
A native of the city of Tomah, Scott and his family now make their home in the town of Ironton, Sauk County.
Scott’s favorite outside activities and interests include, hunting, football and spending time with his family.

Jenny LaBatt's Bio
Jenny LaBatt is an experienced Accountant for Jewell Associates Engineers, Inc. She is responsible for all aspects of the company’s finances, including preparation of financial statements, payroll, billing, and payables. She also administers the company’s benefit plans, business casualty insurance, and property leases. She serves as the company Treasurer and is a member of the Board of Directors.
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. A native of the Richland Center area, Jenny and her son Aaron and daughter Kaitlyn now make their home in rural Lone Rock.
She enjoys traveling to warm, sunny places, especially in the wintertime, trying to solve the crossword puzzle in the Sunday edition of the Wisconsin State Journal, playing cribbage and euchre and sitting around a fire with friends and family on summer nights.
Little known facts of interest about Jenny are that she never learned how to hula hoop and that she won the State Accounting Championship for high school students in both her junior and senior years. Winning gave her the opportunity to participate in the National competitions in Orlando, Florida and Washington, D.C.
