Bob Seager's Bio
Bob is an executive vice president and business operating unit leader for Environmental Services.
With over 37 years of experience in business leadership and environmental management, Bob and his team of 3000 environmental professionals deliver wide ranging environmental services for every sector of industry and government in Canada and the United States. Bob’s key focus has always been building and maintaining relationships with key clients through understanding specific needs and responding with timely, high-quality technical services.
As former president of Jacques Whitford AXYS and chief executive officer of AXYS Environmental Consulting, Bob joined Stantec with the acquisition of Jacques Whitford in January, 2009.
Bob has acted as the project sponsor on major Arctic pipeline projects, including the Mackenzie Gas project and Alaska Gas feasibility study. As part of his work in northern Canada, he facilitated the creation of a number of Aboriginal Partnership companies which continue to provide significant value to communities and our clients across northern Canada.
Bob has a bachelor of science in zoology and geography from the University of Alberta.
Dan Lefaivre's Bio
Dan is Stantec’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. His responsibilities advance Stantec’s commitment to doing what is right. As a member of the executive leadership team, Dan is responsible for the financing of the Company and overall capital structure, financial reporting, and management of corporate assets and risks. He provides leadership to the financial staff, participates in the Company’s strategic development, and engages with Stantec’s investment community.
Dan has worked on numerous acquisition/integration activities and the selection and implementation of several enterprise systems, including Oracle, designed to enhance management information and public company disclosures.
Dan is a certified management accountant and, in 2011, was conferred the FCMA designation in recognition of his service to the accounting profession and community. He is currently a director of the Financial Executives International’s Edmonton chapter.
Gord Johnston's Bio
Gord is the new President and CEO of Stantec, responsible for providing executive leadership to the Company and managing its growth. He has over 30 years of private and public sector experience in the design and project management of infrastructure projects throughout North America and abroad. Having progressed through various leadership roles after joining Stantec’s Edmonton-based Water practice in 1990, including serving as the Water business line leader, as executive vice president of the Infrastructure business operating unit, and as an active participant in Stantec’s acquisition sourcing and integration efforts.
Committed to revenue growth and client management, Gord’s passion is developing new work and driving strategic initiatives. Gord builds and maintains strong client relationships by establishing a clear understanding of expectations and maintaining open and honest communications.
Gord earned bachelor of science and master of engineering degrees in civil engineering from the University of Alberta, and is a registered professional engineer, certified project management professional, and Envision Sustainability Professional. He completed the Harvard Business School's Leading Professional Services Firms program and Financial Literacy program for Directors and Executives at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
Gord has served on the board of directors for ACEC Canada, as past-President of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta, and as Chair of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association Biosolids Committee. He also serves on the TELUS Edmonton Community Board.
Kirk Morrison's Bio
As executive vice president and business operating unit leader (BOUL) for Energy & Resources, Kirk manages our Oil & Gas, Mining, and Power business lines.
With more than 30 years of industry experience, Kirk is focused on enhancing Stantec’s reputation in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas. His career has progressed from the design, construction, and management of a variety of oil and gas, infrastructure and environmental projects to his current executive, strategic planning, and management responsibilities.
Kirk believes in an approach that puts people, clients, and community first. He is committed to trusted client relationships and demonstrates excellence in safety and quality throughout the design, construction, and operations phases of projects such as the Keystone Pipeline in 2010, a critical piece of North American energy infrastructure.
Holding a bachelor of applied sciences in civil engineering from the University of Waterloo and a master of applied science sciences in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia, Kirk has also completed the Directors of Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors in Calgary, Alberta.
Leonard Castro's Bio
Leonard is an Executive Vice President and the business operating unit leader for Stantec's Buildings group, with overall responsibility for the growth and direction of our global architecture and engineering practice.
In this role, Leonard has been privileged to travel to Stantec’s offices around the globe and in doing so, has developed a deep understanding of the diversity in geography, culture, and history that makes each community unique.
With 30 years in practice and 20 years with Stantec Leonard’s work includes complex project delivery for some of the largest institutions in North America and Internationally across all of our sectors.
Leonard is an active member of his professional and local community, and a participating a member of a variety of industry-related and community organizations. Whether in business or his personal life, Leonard is driven by a passion for people and community building.
Michael Carter 's Bio
Mike is the Managing Principal of the Cleveland office of Stantec Architecture. Since joining the firm in 2005, he has led design projects in the areas of Education and Science and Technology, lending his 38 years of professional experience to the practice. Recent examples of his work include projects for the Cleveland Institute of Art, Baldwin Wallace University, The Ohio State University, Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University.
Mike is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH, where he received a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in Architecture and a Master of Environmental Science degree in Environmental Planning. He is an Ohio Registered Architect and LEED Accredited Professional.
Scott Murray's Bio
As executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO), Scott oversees the day-to-day operations of our Company and our Project Delivery Office, and helps guide our health and safety team. He is based in Lexington, Kentucky.
Scott joined Stantec in January of 2008 with the acquisition of Fuller, Mossbarger, Scott and May Engineers (FMSM) bringing with him expertise and leadership in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, geographic information systems, and a significant presence in the federal market. He served in positions of increasing authority with FMSM, including as owner and vice president. Scott was a member of FMSM’s board of directors (2000) and also provided leadership as the firm’s transportation program manager and Lexington office manager. Scott joined Stantec as regional leader for the US Southeast region (2008), was promoted to US East regional operations unit leader (2010), US regional operations unit leader (2014), and to his current position of chief operating officer (2016).
Scott is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. A registered professional engineer, he is actively involved in organizations that support and promote the engineering profession. Scott’s past leadership roles include president of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Kentucky, president of the Kentucky Geotechnical Engineering Group, and president of the American Society of Civil Engineers Bluegrass Branch. He has also been active at the national level, serving for several years as an ACEC National Transportation Steering Committee member jointly with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and as National State Liaison Subcommittee Chair with the national ACEC.
Steve Fleck's Bio
Steve is Stantec’s new chief practice and project officer (CPO). This new role combines the responsibility for how we execute work (practice) and the responsibility for governance and oversight of the successful execution of projects for our clients (project).
Stantec’s Practice Services is responsible for our ISO-certified Integrated Management System, which includes the Project Management Framework that guides all our projects. Project Delivery, part of Stantec’s Programs and Business Solutions, is responsible for implementing our key strategic objective of exceptional project execution.
Included within this breadth of responsibility are Stantec’s quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management systems, our project management ecosystem, and strategic positioning, contracting, and governance of Stantec’s largest projects. Steve also chairs Stantec’s Project Risk Committee.
Steve has 35 years of experience in engineering, project management, and business management in Sweden, Chile, the United States, and Canada. The best advice he ever received from a client? “Don’t surprise me.” Steve has applied that advice to client relationships throughout his long career. His signature projects include the South Fraser Perimeter Road, the Kelowna General Hospital and Vernon Jubilee Hospital expansions, and the Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant.
Steve has represented Stantec as a content expert on project management, risk management and public private partnerships throughout North America. This includes lecturing at Penn State University, the University of British Columbia and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Steve currently serves as director of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada (ACEC-Canada) and is also a past chair of ACEC-British Columbia. From 2011 to 2016 he was a director and vice chair of Providence Health Care, the governing organization for 15 health care sites in Vancouver, British Columbia. Since 2009, Steve has cycled with ride2survive, raising over $25,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Tino DiManno's Bio
Tino joined Stantec in 1986 as the manager of Land Development Engineering for the Calgary, Alberta, office. In 1994, Tino was appointed vice president of Stantec’s Urban Land group. In 1999, he became vice president of Stantec’s Alberta South operations, and in 2005, Tino took on the role of senior vice president for Canada. He later became the executive vice president of Canada and in 2014 the responsibility for the Energy and Resources business unit was added to his portfolio. In 2016, Tino took on the role of CBO. Prior to joining Stantec, he began his career with Genstar Developments in 1979. There, he worked on numerous land development projects in Calgary and was instrumental in the startup of several new Calgary communities.
In addition to his diverse and extensive Stantec portfolio, Tino is a member of and has been involved in a number of professional organizations such as the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, and the Calgary Chapter of the Urban Development Institute, for which he also served as chairman of the consultant’s committee. Tino is currently an associate member of the Urban Land Institute and a past director of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta.
Tino remains active in his commitment to community. In this regard, he has volunteered with community organizations such as Wellspring Calgary (Fundraising Initiatives Board), the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (Industry Relations Board), the University of Calgary, the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Calgary Veteran’s Food Bank, and the Minor Hockey Association of Calgary.
