Scope Of Work

Under one roof, students in the Health Careers and Sciences building can sign up for classes in the Enrollment Center, visit the library, bookstore, and Technology Learning Center, or just hang with friends in a variety of lounges or cafés. One convenient stop saves time and allows students to focus on their studies.

The nursing wing has a variety of specialized labs, and the adjacent science wing has teaching laboratories. Prep areas next door to the labs give instructors room to prepare experiments and equipment. As soon as one lab session wraps up, the instructor can roll in the gear on a mobile cart and begin the next lab class in minutes. This means a wide variety of class types can be offered back to back without interruption.

With exceptional outdoor views through a two-story glass wall, the lab wings create a central gathering area for students. Daylight harvesting, native landscaping that eliminates the need for irrigation, 40 percent reduction in energy use, and 47 percent reduction in water usage are just some of the sustainable features that helped make this a LEED Gold facility. Efficiency and flexibility together—that’s what makes this building such a success.
