Aaron Hill's Bio
Born and raised in the Sunshine State, Aaron recalls visiting family in Cleveland and fell in love with this city at an early age. As a servant-leader, Aaron has strengthened our architecture community. To name a few of his posts: Chair the Design Awards Committee, President for AIA Cleveland (2015) and Presidential track for AIA Ohio. Aaron still stays true to his Florida roots as an avid wakeboarder.
Aaron’s Cleveland Recommendation: Your best day in Cleveland starts with a run through the MetroParks and up the Fort Hill Steps for a stunning view of the Rocky River.
Brandon Garrett's Bio
Brandon’s love of Cleveland basketball and mentoring intersect in his role as a coach of Youth Sports’ Junior Cavaliers. Off the court, he has a similar role where he consistently drives the Bialosky team to take our game to the next level. Brandon is a member of the Cleveland Restoration Society, and especially enjoys breathing new life into historic structures.
Brandon’s Cleveland Recommendation: Lakewood Food Scene – Roxu Fusion, Sarita a Restaurant, and Forage Public House to name a few.
Bruce Horton's Bio
Trained at MIT and Yale, Bruce is our numbers guy. There is no problem he can’t solve, causing him to become the go-to person for our most complex, multi-phased projects. Bruce was one of the first LEED Accredited Professionals in the state of Ohio. His expertise is often solicited by clients, organizations and other architects interested in sustainability and good environmental practices. And when Bruce says, “Scout’s Honor” it holds weight: he’s an Eagle Scout.
Bruce’s Cleveland Recommendation: Edgewater Live – on Thursday evenings during the summer months hang out with a great cross section of Cleveland, listen to a local band, and watch the sun set from the beach.
David Craun's Bio
David is our Director of Design, achieving a balance between technical ability and inspiring creativity. Clients have converted his surname into a verb: referring to a problem solved as having been “crauned”. He has a passion for social interest design, and regularly assists communities and organizations in need of pro-bono design services. Recent recognitions include Crain’s Cleveland Forty Under 40 and Engineering News Record Midwest’s Top 20 Under 40.
David’s Cleveland Recommendation: Mabel's BBQ on E 4th Street before a game and order the Clevelander
Jack Bialosky, Jr.'s Bio
Jack believes this is a golden age for Cleveland architecture – and his public service reflects it. He chairs the Downtown Design Review, has juried design awards regionally, and advocates for local architects through AIA Cleveland. In 2016, Jack was named a Fellow within the American Institute of Architects, a distinguished honor that recognizes architects with significant contributions to the profession of architecture and society at a national level. In his former life on the East Coast, he taught at the Harvard School of Design. In this life, Jack enjoys woodworking, walks in the park with his dog, and watching collegiate lacrosse.
Jack’s Cleveland Recommendation: Sulphur Springs picnic area South Chagrin Reservation Cleveland MetroParks
Mark Olson's Bio
Mark is from Upstate New York (which he refers to as “The Real New York”) and leads most of our east coast work. While experienced in a wide range of project types, he is recognized nationally as an expert in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts school programming and design. Mark also serves on the board of ‘The Intergenerational Schools’, in addition to his responsibilities as their Facilities Chair.
Mark’s Cleveland Recommendation: Cast a fly upon Rocky River’s first ripple and hang on.
Paul Taylor's Bio
Paul Taylor is a prominent design leader at Bialosky who executes spaces that “make the complex simple”. His reputation points to beautifully simple, light-filled environments influenced by a love for art and a deep understanding of constructability and sustainability. Bridging architecture and interior design, Paul is a rare multidisciplinary architect that excels at all scales of design.
Paul’s Cleveland Recommendation: Lakeview Cemetery in the spring. It is as much an arboretum, park, horticultural garden, and sanctuary as it is a cemetery.
Paul Deutsch's Bio
Paul has been instrumental in expanding the A/E firm, notably in its transformational move to Midtown in 2016. He currently serves as Board Chairman of the South Russell Architectural Board of Review, Board of Trustees for Midtown Cleveland, and is past Chairman of the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association. In addition to an architectural license, he also has a pilot’s license (which has been put to good use, flying our staff to client meetings).
Paul’s Cleveland Recommendation: Take an aerial tour of the city when the fall colors are at their peak. It will give you a whole new appreciation for the ‘Forest City’.
