Daniel began as an apprentice at Livingston Lock in 2008. As a slow economy became even slower, he was let go. Unable to find full time employment, he started LKE Locksmiths in 2011, as a mobile business. As the business grew, he opened a shop in Clarkston in 2013, moving it in 2018 to its current location in downtown Holly. He is married to his wife, Christine, since 2011.

Joyce came on board in 2013. She handles all the phone calls, schedules, and daily activities associated with the business. She can assist with key duplication, key cutting and some trouble shooting. Joyce is married to Jeff Lukacs, and has been for 30+ years. They have 4 daughters.

Christine is Daniel's wife and Joyce's oldest daughter. She attended college for graphic design and handles all LKE's branding, social media and advertising. She also fills in at the office setting appointments and handling customer service once a week.
