Scope Of Work
L+M partnered with Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. Providence Community Housing to create a new mixed-income community in New Orleans on the site where the Lafitte public housing development once stood. The first two phases were completed in 2011 consisting of approximately $77 million in total development costs includes the construction of 276 public housing low-income units in a mix of single family homes, duplexes six-plex buildings. There are an additional 241-units onsite including a mix of senior rental housing, market-rate rental housing homeownership.
In addition to providing housing, Faubourg Lafitte aims to foster the growth of a healthy diverse community with improved access to key services. Located directly across the street from the development site is the Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center, a community center that provides a range of services including case management, employment training, community literacy courses, home buyer counseling, a Boys & Girls Club operated summer camp. Faubourg Lafitte is also situated along the new Lafitte Greenway which will link various neighborhoods of New Orleans together with bike paths, walking trails community gardens.
Faubourg Lafitte is the winner of the 2012 Multifamily Executive Award in the Low-Rise category the winner of the Novogradac Developments of Distinction Awards in 2013.
