I enjoying working

industry. Weitz is filled with many talented individuals who provide
this company with the opportunity to build such amazing structures. It
is our people that create a dynamic environment that will challenge
the status quo for the betterment of our company and industry.

Weitz’s success hinges on the success of our clients and vice versa.

Something unique or interesting about me is …
I have 3
daughters (ages 15, 13 and 5) that consume much of my time outside of

What makes Weitz such a great place to work?
Without question,
it’s working with such great people – our customers, our employees,
our design partners and our trade partners. Every company has a unique
culture and companies with similar cultures tend to seek each other
out to do business together. Weitz’s culture draws us to complicated
projects where we provide our customers what are almost always
initially unidentified needs, but by the end of the projects these
needs become critical success factors or “delighters.” Our people feed
off of finding, and delivering on, these items – and there is nothing
more fun than having the opportunity to work with teams of people who
are geared this way.
What is one thing everyone should know about The Weitz Company?
It’s the same answer as why I love working for Weitz. I literally have
a career’s worth of stories that bring what I said above to life. I
love sharing these stories and will make time any day to do so.
Something unique or interesting about me is …
I’m an extreme
and endurance sports addict. There are few things in life that I enjoy
more than the absolute focus extreme sports require or the clarity
that comes from suffering for hours on end during endurance sports.

What makes Weitz such a great place to work?
Weitz is an
incredible place to work because of the opportunities and challenges
we provide. If you are willing to work hard and are committed to
developing and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, you will
have access to great opportunities to build some of the most
challenging projects in the United States, as well as Internationally.
What is one thing everyone should know about The Weitz Company?
Weitz, being part of Orascom USA, as well as the parent company
Orascom Construction, is a worldwide organization with revenue over
$3B. Yet, in any given location, we feel and operate like a small,
approachable organization. The sense of family exists in every Office
and Business Unit. There are many opportunities in the construction
industry, but I have stayed with Weitz for the last 25 years because
of the challenges, opportunities and relationships that have been provided.
Something unique or interesting about me is …
I love outdoor
activities and always enjoy a good softball or flag football game. I
gave up amateur motocross racing, but I still like to get out and ride
some. And I also have a passion for water and snow skiing. I have lost
my competitive desire for many of these sports, I think that comes
when your kids start passing you on the slopes.

What makes Weitz such a great place to work?
Weitz is a place
where it is safe to make mistakes. Maybe an odd thing to say about an
employer, but mistakes are a great way to learn. If people are afraid
to do something wrong, creativity and innovation become stifled. A
leader or manager who “has your back” creates space for learning. This
has always been my experience with Weitz and it is one of the things I
really appreciate about the company.
What is one thing everyone should know about The Weitz Company?
We are here to serve you! Weitz exists because clients need
a service and we understand that the client defines what is valuable.
I would not go to purchase a vehicle and drive away with a truck if I
wanted a car – the truck would not be of value to me. No different
than our clients, we are here to listen and understand your value,
then execute a product to fulfill your need.
