B.S. Civil Engineering and Construction Management, University of Wisconsin, Madison
'A house is a very dynamic, moving, creational piece of art for me - something into which I put my heart, attending to every detail. And I don't cut corners. I make your home structurally sound. If I build a good house, I can sleep well at night.'
'I visit each job site at least once a day and usually more, implementing my own personal quality control on every inch of the job. And as a civil engineer and master craftsman myself, I build each house as if I'm building it for my own family.'
Yehuda Elmakias is the third generation of builders in his family. He started his career as a handyman and a painter. He put himself through school while building and maintaining his own business. In 1991, he moved his business and his family from California after he was accepted into the Civil Engineering - Construction Management program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. While establishing residency and situating his business locally, he studied real estate. He earned his realtor's license as well as his broker's license. This information has enhanced his knowledge base as a Civil Engineer and a Builder.
In addition to being a competent handyman and painter, licensed broker and civil engineer, Yehuda has hands-on experience in plumbing, electricity, carpentry, siding, roofing, taping, flooring, finishing...basically all aspects of the construction process. This extensive knowledge and experience with the construction process allows him to ensure a higher quality of work.
The construction industry is constantly changing as new materials and new processes are introduced. Yehuda is an active member in the Madison Area Builder's Association (MABA), subscribes to trade journals, and maintains a close relationship with product representatives in an effort to stay current. He is willing to explore new techniques or materials to determine their effectiveness in enhancing an overall project.
