Growing up in the excavation business, Linhares Excavating's owner Frank Linhares, Jr. literally learned from the ground up. As the son, grandson, great-grandson, and nephew of local excavating contractors he spent weekends and summers during childhood laboring with a shovel and first drove a bulldozer at the age of 13. After High School Frank went to work full time for his father's company, F. J. Linhares Co., Inc. (a Mattapoisett & Southcoast excavation contractor), and has worked in the excavating and trucking businesses ever since. He has had his CDL Class A license since he was old enough to apply for it and has driven all manner of trucks throughout the U.S. including flat beds with over-sized loads, hazmat, reefer trailers and 10-car carriers not to mention the numerous 10 wheeler and tri-axle dump trucks and dump trailers through the years. Frank takes pride in his work and enjoys planning each new job.
