After graduating from Jacksonville University, Ken began his career in banking. Subsequently, he pursued a career in real estate joining Naples Federal as a staff appraiser. Two years later, he moved to Calhoun and Maxwell specializing as a researcher for the firm’s condemnation and trial practice. Ken continued his work in residential appraising and after completing courses through the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, he expanded into commercial appraisal assignments. Ken’s broad appraisal experience, for lending institutions and project feasibility, prepared him to assume a position at Futral & Associates handling the firm’s commercial appraisal assignments.
In the early 1980’s utilizing his appraisal background, Ken began representing buyers with their real estate acquisitions. In 1984, he incorporated The Weiner Companies, a real estate brokerage business, with the mission of providing buyer brokerage services to developers requiring sophisticated advice on market conditions, local development issues and economic factors. Thereafter, services were expanded to include real estate investment opportunities in land and ultimately income producing properties.
In the early 1990’s, Ken developed his first real estate project as a developer for Tire Kingdom, completing numerous project for the company. The Weiner Companies has since focused its efforts on build to suit development for regional and national credit tenants. The Weiner Companies utilizes private equity as a vehicle for investors to participate in investment grade income real estate with opportunities for capital appreciation.
