“Construction is in my blood. My uncle owned a concrete company for
25 years, so I’ve always had a passion for the industry and realized
at a young age that it was something I wanted to be involved in. The
start of my construction career began when I decided one summer before
my senior year of college, to work for Southland Concrete. Not as a
project engineer, or intern, but as a laborer. I worked outside in
the field helping carpenters build forms for concrete columns.
Eventually, I got to the point where the carpenters were fetching
material for me to build/assemble forms. Southland Concrete only
lasted one summer. After graduating college, I began working at HITT
Contracting, as a Project Engineer. Within the first month, I knew I
found the right career path. After years at HITT, I moved on to
Construction Management at CRESA. Collaborating side-by-side with
commercial real estate brokers and better understanding the
leasing/pre-construction process, I felt much more equipped to take on
bigger challenges..”
