oe Cerami moved to Redding in 1974, his eight grade year. He attended Enterprise High School and was the Shop Forman of the ROP furniture making program for three years, he graduated in 1978. Joe began his apprenticeship as a carpenter in 1979. His four year apprenticeship was served working exclusively on commercial and public works projects. Upon graduating 1st in his class out of 46 northern counties in 1983, Joe continued as a Journeyman Carpenter for four years, working with the three largest public works contractors of the time in the area. Joe has worked as a carpenter or contractor in Redding for over thirty five years.
Joe has served three terms as a Trustee for the North Cow Creek School board. Joe has served as President of the Board of Directors at the Shasta Builders’ Exchange and chaired the Exchange’s Political Action Committee. He was the volunteer Construction Manager for Shasta Builders’ Exchange Community Fund during the construction of the Carnegie Stage Project at Market Square in 1999. Joe also served on the Training and Education Committees for the Shasta Builders Exchange. He was named Building Industry Citizen of the Year in 2004. Joe coached for the Foothill Area Little League for five years. Joe and his wife Jody live in Palo Cedro and have a son Nick at the U of A and a daughter Sarah at Oregon State.
