Adrian Foley 's Bio
Adrian Foley is President and Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield
Properties’ development group, responsible for the management and
strategic direction of our Land & Housing and Development business
lines to capitalize on the unique and growing opportunities in the
North American market.
Adrian has been an integral part of the real estate business
since 1996 when he joined then Brookfield Homes, a predecessor to
Brookfield Residential – one of the largest land developers and
homebuilders in North America.
Since then, he has held several leadership roles, including
leading Brookfield Residential’s California operations and most
recently as President & COO of Brookfield Residential where he was
responsible for stewarding operational objectives and implementing
strategic initiatives across North America.
Adrian was born and raised in England where he earned a
Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Greenwich, London.
Alan Norris's Bio
Alan Norris is Executive Chairman of the Development Group at
Brookfield Properties, responsible for serving in an advisory capacity
for its residential and mixed-use development businesses in the U.S.
and Canada, and is engaged in select strategic initiatives.
Alan joined Brookfield when Carma Developers merged with
Brookfield Homes to create Brookfield Residential, its North American
residential property company in 2011. Alan joined Carma in 1983 and
became its Chief Executive Officer in 1994, a role he retired from at
the end of 2021.
Alan is actively involved in the
community, having recently chaired the Resolve Fundraising campaign to
raise $120 million for affordable housing in Calgary, and is past
Chairman of the Calgary Homeless Foundation. In 2018, The Calgary
Chamber and SAIT conferred on him an Honorary Bachelor’s Degree for
his community work, and he was inducted into the BILD Alberta Hall of
Fame for his contributions to the industry. In 2019, Alan was honored
as a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) as part of
the CPA Alberta’s annual Achievement Awards.
He holds a
B.A. degree in accounting and economics and two Chartered Accountant
designations, Scotland and Canada.
Alex McLeod's Bio
Alex McLeod is Brookfield Properties’ President in Florida,
responsible for overseeing the region’s land development operations
and growth strategy.
Alex has over 20 years of experience in the real estate
industry, with 18 years in master-planned community development. Alex
joined Brookfield Residential in 2021 from Newland, where he held
various roles, including Regional President, U.S. East. Throughout his
career, he provided leadership and oversight of acquisitions,
entitlements, planning, and development of several top-selling and
award-winning master-planned communities.
Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and
participated in the Marshall School of Business Entrepreneurship
program at the University of Southern California. Alex is actively
involved in the industry and greater community as a member of Tampa
Bay Builders Association (TBBA), a board member with the Association
of Florida Community Developers (AFCD), a Tampa Economic Development
Committee member (Tampa EDC), and Urban Land Institute (ULI) member
having served on its Florida Real Estate and Business Leadership Council.
Amy Arentowicz's Bio
Amy Arentowicz is Executive Vice President at Brookfield Properties’
development group, responsible for providing general counsel,
strategic advice and legal oversight for its development investments
within North America.
Prior to joining the company, Amy
spent 7.5 years with The Related Companies, L.P. as General Counsel of
Related Hudson Yards, where her work focused on advising and managing
all legal aspects of the project.
Amy holds a Bachelor’s
degree in Government and International Studies from the University of
Notre Dame and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law.
Don Merlo's Bio
Don Merlo is President, West Region Commercial at Brookfield
Properties’ development group, responsible for overseeing the
development of large-scale urban projects in western North America.
In his 28 years with the company, Don has held various
executive roles in land development, housing and mixed-use
redevelopment and has a proven track record in the start-up of new
operational divisions in multiple regions.
Don holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary
and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.
Margaret Wu's Bio
Margaret Wu is Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate
Operations at Brookfield Properties’ development group, responsible
for overseeing organizational strategy, directing execution of
strategic initiatives and ensuring quality delivery of shared services.
Prior to joining the company in 2014, Margaret played senior
roles with global management consulting and communication firms in
Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Washington D.C., and Calgary leading and
delivering award-winning campaigns and programs in over 40 countries.
Margaret earned her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary.
Matt Elsesser's Bio
Matt Elsesser is President, East Region Commercial at Brookfield
Properties’ development group, responsible for overseeing the
mixed-use development operations for the eastern coast of the United States.
Matt joined Brookfield Properties from Forest City where he
held various positions including Chief Development Officer and oversaw
large mixed-use and master-planned communities such as The Yards in
Washington D.C., Pier 70 in San Francisco, and Central Park in Denver.
Matt holds a BA in Finance and Economics and sits on the ULI
Cleveland Advisory board.
Sabrina Kanner's Bio
Sabrina Kanner is Executive Vice President of Development, Design
& Construction at Brookfield Properties’ development group,
responsible for multi-use developments in the northeast U.S.
With Brookfield Properties and its predecessor, Olympia &
York, for 40 years, Sabrina joined the construction division of
O&Y in 1982. In her tenure with the company, Sabrina has played a
key role in the construction, design and development or redevelopment
of over 40 million square feet of signature Brookfield projects such
as Brookfield Place, 300 Madison Avenue, Greenpoint Landing, Bankside,
The Yards, Halley Rise, the restoration/renovation of the Winter
Garden at World Financial Center after 9/11, Bay Adelaide and
Manhattan West.
Sabrina holds a B.A. from Union College and is a member of WX
and the National Academy of Construction. Additionally, Sabrina sits
on the Board of Directors of the New York Building Congress (Executive
Committee), The Salvadori Center (Chair), The Regional Plan
Association (Executive Committee), Urban Green Council (Chair), The
Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation, Cedar Realty Trust, and The
Opus Group.
Scott Janis's Bio
Scott Janis is Brookfield Residentials’ President in Alberta, responsible for the leadership and oversight of both the Homes and Communities businesses in Alberta.
Scott joined Brookfield Residential in 2008 and has held numerous previous roles including SVP & CFO, Alberta and President of the Edmonton operations. Prior to joining Brookfield Residential, Scott worked in the Audit and Assurance practice at PwC.
Scott is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters of Professional Accounting. He is currently on the board for the Edmonton Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization that partners with communities to strengthen their neighborhood through social and economic development.
Shane Pearson's Bio
Shane Pearson is Chief Operating Officer at Brookfield Properties’
development group, responsible for the success and scale of our
management company operations, with a focus on the execution and
alignment of our strategic, investment and organizational goals. Shane
also works with leaders across our operating businesses on
organizational priorities and frameworks that enable growth of the
platform.
Shane joined the company in 2001 and has held
various senior executive roles, most recently as Chief Legal Officer
for the Development group and Brookfield Residential, where he
provided strategic and legal advice, as well as had overall
responsibility for corporate operations and transaction execution.
Shane earned a law degree from the University of Toronto and an
Environmental Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the
University of Waterloo.
Ted McKibbin's Bio
Ted McKibbin is President, U.S. Land & Housing at Brookfield
Properties’ development group, responsible for overseeing operations
for the Land and Housing division and our consumer-facing Brookfield
Residential brand for all markets across the U.S.
Ted has spent the past 16 years in various executive roles for
CalAtlantic group, most recently as Western Regional President
responsible for the successful performance of $2.8 billion in
inventory across eight home building divisions. Earlier in his 30-year
career, he worked at Brookfield Homes as Vice President, Urban Development.
Ted earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Southern California.
Thomas Lui's Bio
Thomas Lui is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at
Brookfield Properties’ development group, responsible for overseeing
the development and residential land & housing’s financial
operations, treasury, business planning, capital market financings,
investor relations, tax, and compliance functions.
Thomas joined Brookfield in 2011 and has been in his current
role since 2015. During this time, he has had overall responsibility
for the development of the corporate finance function and transaction
execution. Previously, he worked in the audit and assurance group at PwC.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of
Business at the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Professional
Accountant. He is active within the community, currently serving as a
Board of Director and was previously Chair of the Board at the Ronald
McDonald House Charities Alberta. He has also served on other
not-for-profit boards including Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada
and Wellspring Calgary.
Trent Edwards's Bio
Trent Edwards is President, Canada Land & Housing at Brookfield
Properties’ development group, responsible for overseeing operations
for Canada and the Pacific Northwest for the Land and Housing
division, and our consumer-facing Brookfield Residential brand.
He’s extremely passionate about building great cities and
communities. As the company has grown, Trent has taken on many roles,
including Chief Operating Officer with Brookfield Residential in
Alberta and Chief Operating Officer in Australia.
Trent gained a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of
Alberta, followed by his Chartered Accounting designation. He is
actively involved on the boards of Calgary Economic Development and
Westman Centre for Real Estate Studies at the University of Calgary,
and is Co-Chair for the Real Estate Advisory Committee in Calgary.
Trent is also on the Selection & Advisory Committee for the
Calgary Influential Women in Business Awards and coaches boys and
girls basketball, both in the community and for the high school in Calgary.
Warren Krug's Bio
Warren Krug is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer
at Brookfield Properties’ development group, responsible for
Brookfield Residential's Land & Housing investment activities. He
is responsible for strategic and capital planning, and growing the
company’s disciplined practice around investment decisions.
Warren joined Brookfield Homes, a predecessor to Brookfield
Residential, in 2009.
He is on the Advisory Council for the SickKids Innovators
Program, a program that engages the next generation of philanthropists
to support SickKids Foundation in Toronto. Warren holds a Bachelor of
Accounting degree and two Chartered Accountant Designations, South
Africa and Canada.
