Zwick delivered the Cedar City Utah Temple for the LDS Church in September, 2017. Ground was broken on this temple on August 8, 2015 in Cedar City, UT. It is the 17th temple in Utah, serving the needs of South Central Utah and parts of Eastern Nevada.
The structure is 39,802 SF with three floors above ground and a full basement. The concrete walls support the integrity of the building and will endure a major earthquake. They are 15 inches thick and will prevent the temple from swaying and twisting. The footings of the temple are eight feet wide and 40 inches deep. There is also a 1,600 SF grounds & maintenance facility on the property.
The interiors are finished in level-five finishes, with high-end mill work, tile and wall coverings. Much of the design was changed at 50% completion, requiring an amended construction schedule to ensure timely delivery of this new Cedar City, UT landmark.
