Scope Of Work
This award-winning, fast-track project consisted of demolition of seven existing student housing structures and the construction of two new buildings.
The single story 45,000 SF central laundry facility handles all of BYU’s laundry for residential services and those of the Missionary Training Center. This facility has a commercial dry cleaning component for the public as well.
The maintenance facility is a single story, 54,000 SF warehouse component with office space that houses BYU’s maintenance staff, including multiple indoor vehicle bays for storing & repairing campus maintenance vehicles. It features a large mechanics and carpenter shop to handle any repair necessary on a college campus. Space includes storage component space for supplies and equipment needed to service all these aspects.
Construction is on-grade, with CMU, brick and precast veneer. Original construction was 14-month schedule, but the project was completed in 11 months.
