Dado Group LLC

Kristin Hefty is a 2003 graduate of the University of Texas-Austin and has held architectural internships at internationally-acclaimed architecture firms Leeser Architecture (New York, NY) and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (New York, NY). During her time at KPF, Kristin was an integral member of the design team for the Shanghai World Trade Center, the tallest building in mainland China and the second tallest building in the world at that time.

After graduation in May of 2003, Kristin joined Lake|Flato Architects and worked on the master plan and facility expansion of the Francis Parker School (San Diego, CA), the Shangri La Botanical Gardens & Nature Center (Orange, TX), the University Of Texas Health Science Center (Houston, TX), and multiple single family residential projects.

After her 5-year tenure with Lake|Flato, Kristin ventured off with the creation of Wiese Hefty Design Build. With the help of her husband and construction partner Clay Hefty, the firm compiled a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and retail projects. Notable projects include the corporate headquarters for Sweet Leaf Tea (Austin, TX), the Monterey Restaurant (San Antonio, TX), and the Granary Cue N’ Brew on the Pearl campus (San Antonio, TX).

Kristin and Clay announced their new venture in January 2013 as Dado Group, dedicated to providing high quality architecture and construction services under one roof. Kristin is a fully licensed architect, a member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) and a LEED (Leaders in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional.

A 2007 graduate of the University of Texas-San Antonio, Luis holds a Master of Architecture degree with a concentration in advanced building design.  Luis’ passion for community-driven architecture has been a common thread throughout his career, exemplified by his thesis project: plans for a multi-use urban community complex for the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, a multidisciplinary, non-profit arts organization dedicated to developing and promoting Latin-American and indigenous arts.

After graduation, Luis spent six years with San Antonio-based John Grable Architects working on both commercial and retail projects.  These projects include, but are not limited to the new offices for the architectural firm, a rural community center, shooting range, and numerous private residential projects.  During this time, Luis utilized his wealth of construction experience to hone his craft of architectural detailing on high-end projects.

In June 2012 Luis joined Dado Group as a project manager, where he collaborates on design and production and the creation of construction documents for residential design/build projects.  His recent projects including construction documentation for the Granary Cue N’ Brew (San Antonio, TX), a private residence in Austin, and a variety of smaller residential projects throughout the city of San Antonio.
