Eutaw Construction Company is named for the strong eutaw clay which is prevalent in northeast Mississippi. Thomas S. Elmore, company founder and former president, came to Aberdeen, Mississippi as an employee of Granite Construction Company. His capacity at Granite was Project Manager overseeing the construction of the Aberdeen Lock and Dam built on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.
