A.A. Ribicoff Federal Building

Project Information

Project Location:
Hartford, CT
Status:
Completed
Structure Type:
Office Building

Scope Of Work

The Abraham A. Ribicoff Federal Building was built in 1963 but was renamed in honor of Abraham Ribicoff, a former governor of Connecticut and US Congressman, in 1980. The building is an eight floor building on Main Street in Hartford, CT and includes a two story entrance with marble trim pillars and a tan brick façade. The Ribicoff Federal Building houses the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. District Court, U.S. Marshall Service, and the U.S. Probation Office.

The Ribicoff Exterior Plaza Renovations project consists of constructing a new exterior entrance plaza at the Ribicoff Federal Building. The project includes the phasing of construction so that visitors and employees would continue to have a safe egress into and out of the building.

The scope of work includes constructing a new marble façade planter separating the plaza in two, granite pavers, an architectural concrete patio, stainless steel security bollards, architectural lighting, all new trees and plants, and a stainless steel and glass entrance canopy. Once complete, the new exterior plaza will help to emphasize the modernistic beauty of the Ribicoff Federal Building.
