Scope Of Work
The Guggenheim Wind Tunnel is located on The Georgia Institute of Technology Campus. The project consists of the removal and disposal of the existing motor as well as the electronic drive and replacement with new 600 horsepower motor in existing 500 sf enclosed motor room at Georgia Tech Aerospace Engineering classroom/lab building. The Motor replacement included installation of new variable speed drive (VFD), control panel, transformer, circuit breakers, and all associated electrical conduit and feeders. Motor room modification included selective demolition, new concrete equipment pads, new power actuated wall ventilation louver, new roof ventilation fans, new roof flashing and downspout, relocated ceiling lighting, and new fire alarm devices.
?Synergy managed the design and installation process with Eaton, Cole Electric and the Aerospace faculty at Georgia Tech. Synergy provided the demolition services required to put the new motor in place which included roof demolition, new concrete pads, doors, paint, fire alarm system, new motor controls, as well as coordinating training of the new system.
