Freeman Major Architects, LLC

Over the past 70 years, Freeman & Major Architects has built our foundation on three guiding principles:
integrity, insight and innovation. Our philosophy is centered on a commitment to provide services that put our clients’ success first. We bring our significant experience to each unique project in order to provide a fresh point of view and an innovative solution.

The firm was founded in 1940 by W. E. Freeman, AIA under the name W. E. Freeman & Associates in downtown Greenville, SC.  In 1970, Freeman’s son, Allen Freeman, AIA, became a Partner and designed our current office at the edge of Cleveland Park in downtown Greenville.

The firm merged again in 2006 with Van Dyke Design Group led by Joel Van Dyke, AIA, who brought over 20 years of design leadership and a broad spectrum of project experience to the firm.
