Scope Of Work

The Sand Canyon Pipeline connected the Agency’s new pump station to the new reservoir site and included two Santa Clara River crossings with accelerated schedules, tunnel crossings, including one contractor initiated tunnel, and creek crossings using sheet piled and open cut methods. The pipeline was primarily designed within a tight 16’ wide levee alignment including tunnels, bridge crossing, and groundwater. Construction techniques included solid sheeting, open cut, hydraulic shores, and a custom trench shield (designed by L.H. Woods) to allow for installation of 40’ long pipe joints within the levee. Project management coordinated closely with the onsite construction manager and designer to incorporate the numerous re-designs throughout the project and meet the project’s aggressive schedule.
