Gary Young's Bio
Gary Young founded Young Contracting in 1991. Under his leadership, the company has put in place over $1 Billion of commercial construction. Today, Young Contracting is one of the premier construction companies in the Southeast.
As President, Gary oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm. His hands-on approach keeps him connected to current projects and clients as well as internal operations while his passion and visionary spirit leads the team in business development.
Prior to forming Young Contracting, Gary served as President for J. M. Wilkerson Construction Company, Inc. where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, ensuring growth and stability. Before that, he was Vice President at Tribble & Stephens Company where he was responsible for evaluating the construction climate, pursuing new business opportunities and overseeing a team of estimators, project managers and superintendents.
Gary graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in building construction. He has served on the board for the Associated General Contractors (AGC), the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and Affinity Service Group. Gary is a member of Sigma Lambda Chi, the National Scholastic Construction Society, International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and AGC.
Randy Thomas's Bio
Randy Thomas serves as Vice President and manages all phases of the construction process from receipt of documents through project closeout and warranty. His attention to detail ensures that each project has a strong foundation for an on-time and on-budget delivery.
With nearly three decades of construction experience in retail, office, education and industrial, Randy’s expertise is monumental in delivering quality projects. His real estate acumen and intense focus guarantees a seamless construction process regardless of the project complexity.
Prior to joining Young Contracting, Randy served as Senior Project Estimator at Metric Constructors, Inc. He also held estimator and project manager positions at J. M. Wilkerson Construction Company, Inc. and Tribble & Stephens Company respectively. Randy earned High Honors with a bachelor’s degree in building construction from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a member of ICSC.
Rhon Redwine's Bio
Rhon Redwine serves as Vice President and manages all aspects of Young Contracting’s Healthcare Division throughout the Southeast. From proposal submission and contract negotiations to quality control and final delivery, he ensures the construction of each clinic aligns with client specifications. Rhon consistently delivers quality healthcare facilities that are built to meet the unique needs of the patients. The firm’s large pool of repeat clients is a testament to Rhon’s client-centric approach.
With nearly three decades of construction experience, Rhon’s expertise includes interior finishing, renovation and build-to-suit development. His breadth of knowledge and focus on customer service keeps projects on track throughout the construction cycle.
Prior to joining Young Contracting in 2004, Rhon was a Project Manager at RP Redwine Co. and served as a Project Manager at Pinkerton and Laws. He earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Richard Saylors's Bio
Richard Saylors is Vice President of Field Operations and is responsible for all field operations and jobsite safety for Young Contracting.
He coordinates superintendent placement on projects to ensure the ideal team is in place. His motivational leadership generates positive performances from top to bottom.
In his role, Richard manages project schedules, oversees quality control, mitigates subcontractor issues and oversees the warranty and safety programs. A construction veteran, he also manages the intern and field superintendent recruitment programs.
Richard has nearly three decades of experience in the construction industry, ranging from single story tilt-wall to high-rise office structures and retail shopping centers. He served as Superintendent for The Conlon Company and Tribble & Stephens Co prior to joining Young Contracting in 1991. He is a member of the Safety Committee of AGC, ICSC and American Society Safety Engineers (ASSE).
Rusty Peacock's Bio
Rusty Peacock serves as Vice President and manages the day-to-day operations of Young Contracting. His responsibilities include the oversight of pre-construction, estimating, project management, marketing and business development.
Rusty brings nearly 30 years of construction experience to the leadership team. His attention to detail, coupled with big picture thinking, makes him a natural and valuable leader. Throughout the construction process, he ensures that all projects remain on track and are delivered in accordance with Young’s superior standards.
Prior to joining Young Contracting in 1991, Rusty worked along side Gary Young while serving as a project manager at J. M. Wilkerson Construction Company, Inc. and at Tribble & Stephens Company. Rusty earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction from the University of Florida. He is a member of ICSC and AGC.

Brad Smith's Bio
Brad Smith is a General Superintendent for Young Contracting and oversees all Superintendents and field operations. Brad conducts routine site inspections to ensure each project meets or exceeds our client’s expectations, industry standards, and safety regulations.
With over three decades of construction experience, Brad’s expertise includes interior finishing, renovations and build-to-suit development. Through his expert leadership and extensive project experience, Brad ensures that all projects remain on schedule and a quality building is delivered to our clients.
Prior to joining Young Contracting in 1996, Brad served as a Superintendent for Barge-Wagener, Inc. Brad was an inaugural recipient of the AGC Ron Amerson Certificate on Commendation for Safety Excellence in 2000 and has received this award annually ever since.
Brad’s industry certifications include OSHA 30 Hour, Trenching/Excavation, Fall protection, Steel Erection, Scaffold Safety, GSWCC Level 1A, First Aid & CPR.
Chris Crews's Bio
Chris Crews serves as General Superintendent and is responsible for overall field operations, including safety, quality control, equipment and scheduling for Young Contracting. Chris oversees the daily activities of project superintendents and field personnel and conducts routine site inspections to ensure each project meets or exceeds industry standards and safety regulations.
With over eighteen years of experience in retail construction, Chris’ experience includes stand-alone tenant buildings, grocery anchored shopping centers and multiple-story retail projects. His dedication to client satisfaction and expertise in the field is significant to the success of every retail construction at Young Contracting.
Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Chris served as a Superintendent for Beers Construction Company, now known as Skanska. Chris is currently an active member of AGC Georgia and is a 18-time recipient of the Ron Amerson Certificate on Commendation for Safety Excellence Award. In fact, he has received the award annually since 2001.
Chris’ certifications include OSHA 30 Hour, Trenching/Excavation, Fall protection, Steel Erection, Scaffold Safety, GSWCC Level 1A, First Aid & CPR.
