Scope Of Work
Young Contracting undertook the task to complete Camp Creek Marketplace encompassing over 300,000 square feet of finished retail space, in 23 buildings, in eight short months. The site itself presented obstacles – over 100 acres with 2,000,000 cubic yards of earth had to be moved along with 500,000 cubic yards of rock. Additionally, the infrastructure to support such a development had to be built. Young Contracting personnel worked in close concert with the owner, the architect, prime building contractors, site contractors, and utility companies on a daily, and often hourly basis, to ensure the success of the project.
The project, from the first day of construction, was tied to a firm grand opening date. In order to accomplish this feat, our project team elected to phase the work including construction of at least three buildings in different sections of the site simultaneously. Despite record rainfall, a total of 91 drawing revisions, and receipt of the last building construction documents with two months remaining until the grand opening, this project remained on schedule and met the set-in-stone grand opening deadline.
