Bruce Hicks's Bio
“I started my career in construction around 15 years old as a general laborer. I did this for about two years and then got put on a framing crew. After graduating high school, I immediately joined the Marine Corps. I damaged my knee in a training exercise and was honorably discharged after two years. I came home and studied pre-engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and construction management at Southern College of Technology. I worked for Hardin Construction as a laborer, then moved on to Barge Wagner Construction as a rod man. I was eventually promoted to Chief Field Engineer at Holder Construction.
I became a superintendent at 30 years old. I did this for about five years until my superiors discovered I could do paperwork and computer work and promoted me to a project manager, a position I’ve held since then. My favorite part of my job is satisfying the eventual end user, the owner. I strive to make them happy in order to earn repeat business.
My hobbies include riding my bike, working out, college football…ROLL TIDE! I enjoy spending time with my wife, Kelly, especially exploring Georgia. We have two children, Nick and Paige.”
Geoff Cook's Bio
“I earned my bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Georgia Southern University and my master’s degree in Business Administration at Brenau University.
I learned the critical details of construction by being directly involved in all aspects of the building process—an education that brings efficient and effective operational knowledge to the Cook Team. While working with some of the top general contractors in Atlanta and around the Southeast, I’ve had the opportunity to build commercial and residential construction projects valued at over fifty million dollars. My accomplished projects range across sectors, including hospitality, retail, industrial, medical, military and multi-family homes.
I’m an avid outdoorsman, and I’m passionate about sports, snow skiing, hunting, fishing and all water activities. I enjoy being an active member of Christ Place Church and live in Flowery Branch with my wife, Amanda, our son, Jackson and daughter, Madison.”
Keith Cook's Bio
“I was born and raised in a community where hard work, dedication, integrity and a win-win attitude were instilled in me. I received a football scholarship to Tulane University. I studied social science, psychology and political science, while earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. I jumped into the real estate business right after I graduated college.
My career focuses on business development and leadership for companies specializing in a range of practice areas—from real estate brokerage, sales, property and association management to asset maintenance and management, investments and development and construction. I’ve brokered over three billion dollars in real estate transactions and manage large investment portfolios with my 20 years of experience. I enjoy building better communities for Georgia. We established Cook Construction and Real Estate in 2014 and we’ve been growing exponentially ever since.”
