Testimonials
I wanted to thank you and your dispatchers for all your help these last two weeks. You’ll really helped me keep my projects going by rescheduling due to the rain and having a technician for testing at the last minute…please thank your guys for me for being so understanding and helpful. Thank you.
I know when I deal with Robert on a project that he has given it his thorough attention and consideration. Frost National Bank values its relationship with Robert Arias and Arias & Associates, Inc.
Finding a Geotechnical and M&T firm that is responsive to customer needs and adds value to the design/construction process is critical in the success of a facility project. In today’s competitive market it is imperative that we produce engineering solutions that result in a cost effective and reliable design. Arias & Associates has played a critical role in supporting these needs and protecting the integrity of the design in the field.
J. Sanchez Contracting has consistently received very responsive assistance for field technician scheduling and timely reporting from Arias for several years. In many instances their responsiveness has had a very positive impact on our project schedules.
I have enjoyed working with Arias & Associates over the past 2 years at the Lackland AFB Airman Training Center Dining/Classroom Facility 1. I have found Arias to be knowledgeable concerning USACE specifications and expectations. I have no complaints about knowledge, availability, or promptness of the techs that we have worked with, and I hope to get more work together out here at Lackland.
“…I was the Project Manager for the design of the Market Street Realignment project for the City of San Antonio that was completed in December, 2012 and has been under construction since April, 2013. Arias & Associates was a key member of our design team and was responsible for conducting geotechnical investigations and providing foundation recommendations for the design of two bridges, soil properties and design parameters for alternative design approaches for several retaining walls, slope stability recommendations, and pavement design recommendations… The project design schedule was very compressed and was complicated by the discovery of unusual subsurface conditions consisting of relatively deep, very soft to firm clay encountered in two of the soil borings. Because of the tight schedule and limited access to portions of the site along IH-37, it was not possible to conduct sufficient additional borings to accurately define the limits of the unusual soft soils. As a result of extensive research and field reviews, Arias was able to determine that the likely cause of the soft soils encountered was due to loose fill material placed in former acequias that passed through the project area.
The Arias Team worked very closely and diligently with our roadway and structural designers to develop recommendations for the project improvements in light of the unusual conditions. Similarly, Arias has worked closely with URS, the City, and the contractor during the construction phase to analyze soil conditions in previously inaccessible areas and to recommend alternative design approaches, resulting in considerable cost savings to the City.
The Arias Team did an excellent job in responding to the challenges of this project. They were cooperative, very easy to work with, very responsive to every request for information, and diligent in documenting all communications. It was a great pleasure to work with such a professional and dedicated company on this project. I look forward to working again with Arias & Associates on future projects.”
