Scope Of Work
Arias provided Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing services for the expansion of the Samsung Fab 2 Office Building in Austin, Texas. Services consisted of foundation and structure for a new 3-story, 150,000 square foot office building.
The cast-in place structural concrete structure has a footprint of approximately 50,000 square feet, and will be founded on drilled piers, with the ground floor cast free of grade. Floor slabs are pan joists and include post-tensioned girders. The loading dock is ground-supported. At the time of its construction, the Samsung Austin Fab 2 was the largest wafer fabrication facility in the United States. Operationally, the Samsung Fab 2 building is a chip fabrication facility for commercial production of advanced flash memory chips.
