Chris Popwell's Bio
Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Christian Brothers University. He has over 20 years of restoration and renovation construction experience in multi-family, commercial, industrial, and healthcare industries. He has also earned the designations of Certified Restorer (CR), Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), and a number of additional certifications in the restoration industry.
He was named regional vice president in January 2020. In this role, he leads BluSky’s Memphis, Nashville, and Little Rock offices.
Dan Flanagan's Bio
As an owner and CSO for BluSky, Dan leads the company’s sales and business development initiatives. He has been with BluSky since 2007, and is currently a part of the Senior Leadership Team.
Dan has a unique background of experience that he has been able to use to benefit BluSky. He led a direct sales organization in the Southwestern Company for seven years early in his career, recruiting and training top teams as well as achieving President’s Club levels in sales every year. Dan then gained valuable experience on the technical side of the restoration industry as an independent adjuster for Eberl Claim Service. There he handled commercial and residential property claims throughout the country as a top producer for five years.
Folding those two industry experiences together was instrumental in Dan’s success as he entered the restoration industry. Before joining BluSky, he led the growth of a regional restoration company, tripling its size during his tenure. Presented with an opportunity to lead the sales and business development at BluSky compelled Dan to join the team in 2007. Since then, his leadership, passion, and disciplined and competitive drive have been a large contributor to BluSky’s growth. With Dan on the leadership team, BluSky has grown from a regional start-up firm to one of the country’s largest national restoration firms.
Dan grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Business Administration degree. He and his wife, Naomi, are the parents of five and are very active in their community. Dan has coached football at the youth and high school levels for eight years, serving for two years as head football coach at Valley High School.
Dan strives daily to live up to one of his favorite quotes: “Success is not owned – it is rented, and rent is due every day.”
Dave Robbins's Bio
Dave Robbins has a widely known reputation for his knowledge and involvement in the construction industry. He has more than 30 years of industry experience, specializing in the restoration and renovation of multi-family properties. He also has extensive commercial and industrial insurance restoration expertise.
Dave has earned the prestigious designations of Certified Restorer (CR), Water Loss Specialist (WLS), Certified Mold Professional (CMP) from the Restoration Industry Association. He also holds the Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) designation from the American Hospital Association.
Dave was named senior vice president of national health care services in January 2020.
Because he is an expert in his field, Dave regularly speaks on industry-related topics at national conventions. Dave served on the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) Board of Directors. He currently serves on the IICRC S-700 committee, which will create the first industry recognized standards for fire and smoke damage restoration. With Dave’s well-rounded experience, skillful communication, and superior client relations skills, he is able to provide BluSky clients with essential support and strength.
Dave Brewer's Bio
Dave has been actively engaged in the construction industry for nearly two decades. He began his career at one of the larger general contractor firms in the San Francisco Bay Area immediately after graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management. As a project engineer, his focus was process management and quality control. This is where he gained his passion for customer service.
After spending five years in this role, he and his wife decided to return to Colorado where he became a project manager for a general contractor in Fort Collins, managing projects throughout the Front Range and Rocky Mountain region.
In 2009, Dave was hired as project manager with a specific intent to manage projects in a new market for BluSky. Soon thereafter, Dave found himself with a devoted client base and enough success to warrant a new office for BluSky in Fort Collins. He spent several years managing and developing the Northern Colorado market before accepting a promotion to become vice president of BluSky’s Denver office.
He was named regional vice president in January 2019. In this role he leads BluSky’s Colorado, Anaheim, CA, and Phoenix, AZ offices.
Throughout the years Dave, has stayed focused on his construction professionalism but also on the customer experience. A customer once said on a customer survey that under Dave’s watchful eye, BluSky was “a customer service company that happens to perform restoration.”
Dave currently lives with his wife and two daughters in Aurora, Colorado and stays active enjoying outdoor activities with his family. He is a member of Denver Active 20/30 and NoCo Unify, which are both young men’s organizations that raise money for at-risk youth charities in Colorado.
David R. Moll's Bio
David R. Moll holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Colorado State University, which is one of top schools for construction management in the U.S. He worked as a carpenter while attending college and prior to entering the restoration industry he worked nationwide specializing in the commercial construction of hospitals, hotels, and apartment complexes.
He was named executive vice president in May 2020 following the merger between BluSky and HARBRO Emergency and Restoration.
He holds contractor’s licenses in California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, as well as Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) license #1072 for asbestos and mold work.
Currently, David is a member of the Golden West Chapter of the Young’s President Organization (YPO).
Drew Bisping's Bio
As BluSky president, Drew is responsible for sales, operations, mergers and acquisitions. He is also a significant driver of employee culture and the BluSky customer experience.
Drew began his career in the construction industry more than 20 years ago with a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Wisconsin Stout. He joined BluSky in 2007 and has been leading the company’s operations since 2011. He managed the opening of all BluSky’s national locations and is currently heavily involved in the integration of acquisitions and new service offerings.
Drew holds multiple certifications that are specific to the restoration industry, including the Certified Restorer designation (CR #583). He is also the primary license qualifier for BluSky. Drew holds licenses in more than 35 states for general contracting, roofing, asbestos abatement, and mold remediation.
In addition to the day-to-day operations of BluSky, Drew has engaged in public speaking and consulting opportunities including contract negotiations, construction defects, and expert witness testimony.
Jason Cain's Bio
Jason, who is the longest acting Vice President with BluSky, opened the company’s first branch office in Colorado Springs in 2009. Through the service and development of a loyal customer base and reputation for doing the right thing, this office became a model for success that BluSky continues to replicate across the country today.
Jason is an expert in the industry with more than 16 years of service. His professional knowledge is a culmination of experience in property loss damage assessment and project management, profit center management and operations, sales and business development, industry certifications and affiliations, and continuing education. Jason is Certified Restorer #625, as designated by Restoration Industry Association, which is a certification program that is widely recognized as the pre-eminent training program in damage repair.
In early 2016, Jason was asked to join the senior leadership team of BluSky, which directs the strategic and long-term goals of the organization. His desire is to mentor and grow the leaders of BluSky locations. Jason’s expertise in building and running an office provides the experience necessary to help lead the company as BluSky continues to grow and prepare for the future.
Jim Franklin's Bio
Jim Franklin has worked for decades providing specialized services for properties damaged due to fire, water, earthquake, and other catastrophes.
He was named BluSky’s senior vice president in May 2020 following the merger between BluSky and HARBRO Emergency and Restoration.
His construction experience includes high-rise office, large-scale commercial, multi-family structures, condominiums, commercial/industrial tilt-ups, and high-end residential projects. He has worked with both private and public sector clients on their restoration, Cap-x, tenant improvement, and new construction projects.
As a 40-year veteran in the restoration industry, he is a source of leadership, knowledge, and experience. With a hands-on approach and a team of outstanding professionals, Jim leads by example, instilling his colleagues with passion, integrity, dedication to quality, and the desire for customer satisfaction.
Beyond Mr. Franklin’s influential role at BluSky, he is deeply involved in his community. He is currently serving, or has served, on several “for profit” Boards including El Dorado Banishers, CIBA Insurance Services, Morris Contractors, and Caprock Partners. Current and past nonprofit/para-church ministry boards on which he has served include: The Free Wheelchair Mission, The Legacy Center of New York, The National Christian Foundation of California, Mariners Church and Trochia Ministries.
Kelley Brown's Bio
For more than 15 years, Kelley has been engaged in the new construction, remodeling and restoration industry in the Southeast region. After completing his bachelor’s degree in general business with a minor in economics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, he entered the field of construction and restoration. His knowledge and professionalism have earned him a reputation as an industry expert and in 2014, the position of vice president of BluSky’s Atlanta, GA office.
He was named regional vice president in January 2019. In this role he leads BluSky’s Atlanta, Tampa, FL, and Charlotte and Greensboro, NC offices.
His professional knowledge is enhanced through on-site project management, production, estimating, insurance affiliations, trade associations and continuing education programs. Kelley’s areas of expertise include construction materials, methods, and applications; large project scheduling and critical path management; construction management tools and techniques; estimate preparation and pricing negotiation; fire and smoke damage restoration; structural drying and mold remediation; risk management and assessment; and value engineering.
Kelley’s responsibilities include providing all day-to-day sales and operations, timely daily communication and implementation of effective business growth strategies and processes, collaboration with the senior management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems and processes, and assurance that BluSky’s standard of customer service is constantly achieved and the BluSky Customer Experience is met.
Kent Stemper's Bio
As CEO, Kent is responsible for maintaining BluSky’s history of 96 Proof customer service, its award-winning status as one of the Best Places to Work, and growing the company.
Exceptional customer service and driving a remarkable culture are the foundation through which Kent focuses on driving financial success and growth in enterprise value. His history of driving value-added results and achieving corporate goals and growth in enterprise value is evidenced by his key role in leading three companies through successful acquisitions. He is known most for his strong work ethic, uncompromising integrity, results-oriented approach, and focus on people as the driver for results.
Kent’s business experience has been broad and varied. For much of his career, Kent has been in a corporate finance role, which includes holding multiple Chief Financial Officer positions. Many of his finance roles included heavy operational experience, and Kent has had direct management responsibility for manufacturing, supply chain, business development, information technology, and human resources. Kent has operated with companies in all stages, from start-up operations to Fortune 500 firms, and has had two rotations internationally spanning five years in Europe and Asia. He began his career as a CPA with Deloitte & Touche in public accounting.
Kent is known for speaking and writing on several topics including mergers and acquisitions, company culture, and business social responsibility.
Kent received his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business, majoring in Accounting, from Colorado State University.
Kent has been involved with Boys & Girls Clubs for 20 years, and is a board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. Kent is a committed husband and father. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have 3 sons: Kyle, Eric and Andy.
Mike Erekson's Bio
Mike is responsible for all BluSky construction operations and activities, including corporate and individual office oversight. He is also responsible for safety compliance across all functions of the company, and oversees all hiring, training and development of project managers across the company.
Mike began his career in the commercial & civil construction industry more the 20 years ago after receiving a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Utah State University. He is a performance-driven leader with executive management experience directing construction projects throughout the US and Canada. His extensive experience includes construction & senior project management, full P&L responsibility, staff leadership and development, and completing projects with tight deadlines and strict state and environmental standards.
Mike has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 15 years and has served as scout master multiple times. Mike is very involved in his church and its youth programs. Mike is also a dedicated husband and father; he and his wife, Sharon, live in Erie, Co and have 4 sons. His family loves everything about the outdoors and enjoys spending time with each other.
Norton Engen's Bio
A 17-year veteran of BluSky, Norton Engen joined the company in 1994 as a foreman and has held a variety of positions during his career, most recently branch manager for BluSky in Valencia, CA.
Norton was raised in the business by his father, who also remains as general contractor. He credits his upbringing to his solid structural background in all phases of the construction industry. He remains focused on “integrity, dedication to quality and outstanding customer service.”
His other positions at BluSky have included assistant superintendent in charge of multimillion-dollar HOA projects following the Northridge earthquake, superintendent and senior superintendent in the Chatsworth office, and senior project manager and assistant branch manager in Long Beach.
He was named regional vice president in 2020. In this role he leads BluSky’s Ventura, Santa Clarita Valley, San Bernardino, Signal Hill, San Diego, North Orange Co., and South Orange Co. offices.
Norton lives with his family in Torrance, CA.
Todd Smith's Bio
Since 1993 Todd Smith has been an integral part of the BluSky team. He has been responsible for the coordination and sales of hundreds of construction projects ranging from small repairs to $5,000,000 earthquake restoration projects. He is a high honors graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in political science and a minor in law & society.
He was named regional vice president in 2020. In this role he leads BluSky’s Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Francisco, and San Jose offices.
The Northwest region has experienced significant growth over the past five years due to Todd’s uncompromising high standards of quality. His style is welcoming and service-driven.
Travis Vogt's Bio
Travis has been actively engaged in the capital improvement, remodeling, and restoration industry for a number of years both in the Midwest and nationally. He grew up around renovations and his knowledge and professionalism for the construction and restoration fields have earned him the reputation as a leader in the industry. Travis has worked as a project manager, an estimator, and in business development, and has always had a passion for keeping operations running smoothly.
Aside from operations, Travis has been involved in industry affiliations and trade associations such as the Institute for Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Contractors, Apartment Association, and ARGENTUM.
He was named regional vice president in November 2019. In this role he leads BluSky’s Missouri, Roanoke, VA, and Fayetteville, Wilmington and Raleigh, NC offices.
Prior to working at BluSky, Travis served his country in the United States Army, deploying three times to support his country. Travis earned the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and several others before earning an honorable discharge.
Troy Vallier's Bio
As CFO, Troy is responsible for BluSky’s accounting and finance functions, including banking relationships and financial reporting. He also oversees IT. He joined BluSky in 2019 and is a key member of BluSky’s executive leadership team.
Troy began his career in the civil heavy construction industry more than 30 years ago. Troy’s professional experience includes senior finance and operations roles with publicly held, privately held, and private equity-owned businesses. He has extensive merger and acquisition experience with an expertise in systems integration. Troy has helped grow two companies to over $1 billion and increase stakeholder value through strategic vision, installing scalable systems, implementing scalable processes utilizing lean six sigma and diligent financial management.
Troy has a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from University of Nebraska – Omaha.
Troy is a dedicated husband and father. He and his wife, Patrina, enjoy international travel and adventure. They live in Golden, Colorado and have two daughters and two sons: Calla, Jonquil, Trevor and Trenton. He enjoys hiking and has summitted all fifty-four 14,000 ft peaks in Colorado. He is also an avid sports fan.

Jim Rable's Bio
Since beginning with the BluSky family in 2019, Jim has been senior vice president of corporate development. He is responsible for helping existing business owners decide if the acquisition process is a right strategic move as part of his/her overall succession plan.
Jim began his career in insurance sales and sales training before starting in the restoration business. He has worked in many roles in the restoration industry, including business development, sales management, estimating, and project management. For much of his career, Jim served as president of United Services of St. Louis. In that role, Jim’s focus was operational management, team creation, team building, financial health, and most importantly, company culture.
One of Jim’s favorite accomplishments in his career has been the creation of the Lyle Rakers Charitable Foundation, a non-profit that raises money for ALS research.
Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Lindenwood University. He is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Andrea, and they are the proud parents of Kate and Will. Jim has coached club volleyball at the junior high and high school levels.

Karen Kaplan's Bio
As vice president of finance, Karen Kaplan is responsible for managing the BluSky accounting team and overseeing company financials.
Karen has a bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting from the University of Phoenix. She began her career in the restoration industry over 20 years ago and served as a chief financial officer for 15 of those years.
Karen is an avid sports fan. She and her husband Rich enjoy traveling in the U.S. They live in Rossmoor, CA, and have one son and one daughter.
