Bay Area Seismic Engineering and Construction (BASEC) is an established Design and Build firm, with extensive experience in engineering and construction of high-quality, new buildings as well as retrofit of existing buildings, including the process known as soft-story seismic retrofit. We use a turnkey design-build approach to projects that can save customers both time and money. BASEC was selected as the principle investigator by the State of California Seismic Safety Commission after the Northridge earthquake to make code change recommendations for Unreinforced Masonry (URM) Buildings. BASEC's expertise covers seismic retrofitting of URM buildings, Tilt-up and Soft-Story building, and residential bolting.
